  • Former BU recruit- Brandon McGee

Brandon McGee was a very good prep prospect out of Chicago that Bradley pursued,
but the kid went to Indiana. Then he was booted when all Kelvin Sampson's players tanked their grades, and landed at Auburn, but had to sit out all last year.

The kid's now two whole years out of high school and despite his talent, hasn't had a chance to play any ball yet.....

now he's gone from Auburn, too.......sad story...
Todd Van Emst, AuburnJeff Lebo signals a play last season. Forward Brandon McGee, who transferred from Indiana to Auburn last summer and sat out the 2008-2009 season, has left the Tigers and will not participate this season. Also, reserve forward...

well, good for Brandon McGee...he's making quite the comeback...
Ultimately he landed at Wabash Valley junior college and is teammates with Dodie's brother Brandon Dunson.
remember, McGee was seriously considering transferring to BU when he left Indiana! Hopefully he won't "aim too high" again this time around...

Brandon McGee is among the nation's junior college leaders in 3-pt shooting.

I know it's early, but here are his numbers...
Brandon McGee, sophomore at Wabash Valley College, from Chicago Crane Tech, 6-7
    In four games, 18.3 ppg, 7.0 rpg, and only 1 to/gm, FG%=74% (29-39), 3-ptFG%=80% (8-10), 70% on FT's (7-10).

BTW - teammate Brandon Dunson is putting up these numbers...
    In four games, 13 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 4 assists, 2 steals per game, FG%=50% (20-40), 3-ptFG%=50% (5-10), 60% on FT's (3-5).

Brandon McGee was recruited by Bradley out of high school at Chicago Crane High School in 2007. He initially went to Indiana University and played for Kelvin Sampson. Then Bradley renewed interest in him when he left Indiana and sought to transfer. He transferrred to Auburn, but left before he ever played a game there and transferred to Wabash Valley Community College where he was a teammate this past year with Brandon Dunson. An injury in December caused a number of schools to drop off him, and now he has committed to Georgia State University.

Remember Brandon McGee - initially he was Top 100 - 4-Star, went to IU/Kelvin Sampson, then juso and was a HOT recruiting target..

Well - after verballing a bunch of places then reneging he finally landed at Georgie State....and you'd think he might at l;east be able to crack the lineup there??
BUT -- wow, has his stock fallen -- at Georgia State he barely gets off the pines - averaging just 8 mpg over the past 6 games and actually scoring a basket in only two of his last eight games...
wonder what happened that he's fallen as far as he has??
