Mark Gilchrese 2011 Recruit

He didn't really play the PG position for SHS last year. They ran more of a 3 guard offense with Derek Wilkerson playing PG most of the time. Had a few scouts walk up to me and ask if I was related to Gilchrese because I know him. Tremendous upside, but will need to improve his overall game. He had more of a shoot first mentality from what I could see, but having two more years to play the PG should improve his stock.

Mr. Gilchrese does not have a scorer's mentality. I saw him play at the State Farm Classic this past winter. He is at a school that lacks size and had 3 so called PG's. Isiah Hale and Mark Gilchrese were also the PG's for the the Peoria Irish 16 and 17U teams the last 2 years. I have also seen Mr. Gilchrese during some AAU events. He is the catalyst of the Peoria Irish 16U team. He is super quick and athletic. He knows how to distribute the ball and plays impressive defense.
Sometimes players play different in High School because its a little easier or that they are forced to play outta position some of the time. Having 2 potential D1 PG's on one high school team its hard to designate who is PG and who is SG...
Look at Dyricus Simms Edwards this past year... He looked like a shoot first guy. I know he is a PG, but sometimes your role is different and is based on what the team needs out of you at the time.
Mr. Gilchrese is a very good player and would love to see him at Bradley.
