3.) 2006 Bu Vs Kansas Jaycheaters. What more needs to be said when you can go back to their message board and see the respect we got before the game.

4.) 1968 Bu Vs Louisville Joe Allen vs Wes Unseld. Not sure which night was loudest this one or the Tulsa game in 1982. Hope we get back to those days.

5.) 1996 MVC game Bu Vs SWM State when Deon worked his magic. That shot and Chris Roberts shot had to be the two best in BU history.
What about the shot Parker made at SIU to win from Half court, all three were great but I think the Parker shot is equal to Roberts other then his was deeper the Deon shot stands alone?

Parker also hit a 3 to force OT at Crisler against Michigan early in the 96-97 season, but BU lost by 2 after the extra session.

        1. 1996- "The Shot Part I" by Deon Jackson vs SMS
        2. 2006- "K-Who???" vs Kansas (tie)
        2. 2006- "Aaron Grey Gets Owned" vs Pitt (tie)
        3. 1997- "Come Fly With Me" vs #8 Michigan...huge upset win, plus E-Roberson with the greatest dunk I've ever seen in person
        4. 1996- BU vs Tulsa...I believe it was senior day for the class with Deon, Funches, Billy Wright and Chad Kleine...BU was down by something like 16 or 17 at half to the Shea Seals led Tulsa team...BU comes back to tie, then holds Tulsa nearly scoreless in the OT to win big
        5. 2009- "The Shot Part II" by Chris Roberts vs Oakland

Next 5 (in no particular order)...
1994- BU vs Eastern Michigan...3OT victory in the NIT...I was about 11 and still remember my ears ringing the next day
1995 vs Georgia Tech, BU beats Stephon Marbury/Matt Harpring's GT in San Francisco
1999(?) Rob Dye 3-ball beats ISU at Redbird
2001(?) loss vs Wichita St. in St. Louis...with Gilbert and Gillingham injured, Marcello Robinson goes off for like 30 pts and BU nearly knocks off WSU
1997 at SIU...AP drains a 40-footer to win at the buzzer, WMBD gets knocked off the air when the sudden victory celebration spills onto the scorer's table

NOTE: I'm sure I'm missing a ton of great games, the ones listed above are the ones on the top of my mind.
It is scary that your top 5 mirrors mine just in different order. the Tulsa game we were down 17 at half. I don't remember if it was one or two OT's(we had snuck a 12 pack of Milwaukee's beast ice beer in), but I don't think I've ever heard the place louder. #1 is Deon, #2 is Roberts shot last year, especially after the shot drawn up by Oakland 2 seconds prior. 4 and 5 are the KS and PITT games. I'd also like to add the most memorable losses, the ridiculous finish to the golden griffins of Canisius in the 3rd round NIT game where they drew up an inbounds play where the entire one half of the court was stacked and they ran one guy out to catch and put back a purpose brick off the board at the horn, The 6'10" UNLV guy who threw in a line drive 3 to win at the buzzer at Carver, Colico Buie's "return the favor" shot the following year after Deon, the UT-Arlington debacle with one of Dave Snell's funniest play by play endings where he just says off the glass and good, Braves lose, we'll be back to wrap it up in a minute, and Jerome Robinson's absence from the Detroit Mercy game where we got annihilated and Molinari din't even know he wasn't going to play. He was well enough to play against ISU in St louis, but wouldn't dress because he feared for his future playing career(what a joke-where is he now?)I think Rashad philips went for 40+ that game. Worst 150 mile ride home ever

Not critizing but I find it very difficult to believe that the wins v Pitt and Kansas simply are not the two biggest wins by BU ever. Other then in the 50 and earlier there has not been any larger wins by BU. The Deon shot was in the Valley tourney and it kept alive an NCAA chance but the Roberts shot, even if it was a miracle was in a made up low end tourny. But neither had the impact of the two NCAA wins.

No way that Pitt and Kansas are not bigger or more exciting then any other BU game played, simply due to the importance and the unexpectedness of both wins.

I agree with you Houston, but to me, this is a generational question. I am sure some of the fans in the 50's and 60's would have a different game of choice.

That's a fair point, houston. The only reason I didn't include that in my five was that if you weigh the importance of reaching the Sweet 16, the Kansas game was the one that gave BU the confidence it lacked all year. The Pittsburgh game wasn't really all that great because the Panthers played so poorly. Not meaning to diminish the accomplishment, but that was the team we should have been seeing all year (or at least once getting Franklin and O'Bryant back).

                  Can I add a couple?

                  1) Bradley opened up a 28 pt lead by holding the other team scoreless. It was 28-0, at home in the Field House against then MVC foe New Mexico St (before the 3pt shot and shot clock) and then went on to lose it. I forget what year, maybe DC or Tornado recall it.

                  2) 1999 NIT. Bradley had a 1pt lead AND the ball out of bounds against Butler. All we needed was to get the ball inbounded and likely get fouled... so as we come out of a time-out, ALL WE NEEDED WAS AN OUT OF BOUNDS PLAY! Instead, a post up lob over the head of the defender to inbounds??? Ball gets stolen, Butler scores, game over - we lose by 1.

I was at that game MM. I believe it was 1977 or '78. BU opened with a 28-0 lead where the fans stood and clapped until the other team scored. Geez, my hands were sore. Believe it or not, BU ended up losing by over 20 points. What a horse$4!t way to lose

I was there too B4L. Thanks for the help on the year. Looking at the Media Guide, we won at home against them in the '76 and '78 seasons. We lost 117-109 in the '77 season and lost to them 74-62 in the '79 season. So I am thinking it was the '77 season which might fit best with your memory.

The game vs. New Mexico State that BU lost after running out to a 28-0 lead was in the late 70's and I kinda roughly recall the score...
so using the Media Guide, I am guessing it was the Jan. 27, 1977 game that BU lost 117-109.

There have so many great games, so I'm just going to go for the ones I happen to be in attendance, in no particular order.
The game at Drake during the 32-3 season when JL threw a lenght of the court pass to the Hawk who caught and shot the ball all in the same motion for the victory.
The NIT championship game at MSG against Purdue when the Braves proved they belonged in the NCAA tourney.
Hawk's last game at Carver when the Braves started the route right off the bat to murder ISU.
The victory over Michigan at Carver featuring one of the greatest dunks in BU history by Eric R.
The victory over ISU at Carver when JIm L's
driving layup, if I remember right, tied the game and the Braves went on to victory.
The game at ISU when most of their students had Dick V wigs on and when the Braves upset the Redbirds there were wigs all over the stands and our crowd telling them they forgot something.
The first game at the Civic Center when I walked in and saw the place. We beat Loyola and coaches wore tuxedos.
Most of the 32 wins in the 32-3 season starting with the win in Chicago against Loyola.
I missed many a good game in the 60's due to military service. Wish I could have seen the 91-90 win over Cinci.
What part of illegal don't you understand?
