  • New NCAA Rule May Benefit Bradley

this new rule might make European players immediately eligible even if they have played on teams in Europe that contained pro ball players...

Presently this rule is causing penalties for players like wilkins and Iowa State's Lucca Staiger....
so quite possibly John Wilkins, who is at junior college right now, can appeal and have the five game penalty reviewed?

Since John went to jr. college I would not think he would still receive the 5 game penalty.

you might be right....that NCAA might have to judge his penalty again as a new entrant into D-I,
and if that rule is in effect by August 2010, then maybe John won't be subject to the 5-game penalty.

It will be interesting to see if the NCAA grants another year to Staiger if they change the rule or if they just decide to continue to stuck it to him or not. No idea if he would use a fifth year in Ames or if he would just go back to Germany to play pro ball, but it would be the right thing to do to grant it if he asks, but the NCAA rarely does the "right thing".
