  • Whats the most important position for a D1 team ?

Thought id try a new thread to keep us going the next 16 days. What position do you think is the most important to a good D1 team.

I vote for PG hands down

Certainly I think PG is the most important position for 90% of DI programs.

But what separates the men from the boys is a truly dominant center. The teams that have that set themselves apart.

Those are also harder to come by. But if I'm a coach, I would never expect the program to distinguish itself without one.

Center is important, but have you ever seen a top twenty team at the end of the season without a good point guard ? I think your more likely to see one without a dominant center.

The most important position for a team will be the best player player they have on the floor. Oklahoma would of said the center position last year with Blake Griffin! ISU next year will say the 2 with OE!

I like everyone's input... just throwing one out there for the poops and giggles of it all... most important position to a DI team is da COACH.
