I agree....Ruffin as a Senior was better then EM as a freshman.

Now if we want to compare both guys as freshman I think EM is close to holding his own.

Good point dogs. I think McCain has the potential (with his strong, solid body type) to be a much better player before he graduates than Ruffin ever was. Time will tell.

This would be quite a feat... wasn't Ruff the leading assist man in the country coming into his senior year?

EM and Ruff are different type of players IMO. EM is more like a running back that runs between the tackles while Ruff was the type that liked to go outside of them. I expect EM to be a pass first and drive PG then bombs away player Ruff was.

Well said SFP. Ruff was somewhat like Willie Scott. McCain more like Anthony Manuel.

Anthony Manuel by the time he was a senior never saw a jump shot he didnt like. Yes he was quite the distrubitor of the ball with Hawk and that group but when they were gone he shot alot. I though would be very happy with a McCain that was as tough and physical along with had the court awareness, shooting, passing of Manuel.

I think McCain if being compared is a bit like Rob Dye, meaning both were very good handling the ball and going to the rim. Dye though was a very good finisher.

I've actually tried contacting that guy twice to see if he's interested in writing a joint preview of the Valley. I think I'll do it myself...

I just dont see EM being at the same level that Ruff was when he was a senior, but Maybe thats because they are two differnt type of pg's like you said. I dont really care how he gets it done, just get r done !!!

D.Ruffin did not have a great senior season and had a bad last tour. or we would have beaten Creighton in St.Louis, I hope Edge constantly improves and leads this team to many wins the next 3 years. I do believe Ruffin and Edge are completely different players even though they play the same position.I am also not knocking ruffin as a player but just saying he would have been much better his last year if not for the injury and the the other issue that happened.
