I think 5th would be a great spot to be picked. It's nice to fly under the radar. If we end up finishing higher, then we have "overachieved". I believe something would have to go terribly wrong (either injury or chemistry) for us to finish lower than 5th. UNI would have to be the clear cut choice to win the Valley, and I agree that CU, ISU, and SIU will probably be picked ahead.

I'm trying to take off my rose colored glasses for BU and I see no reason why any school besides UNI would be a consensus pick over us. Am I missing something? We lose TW and a center that we all complained about but we have players that can make up for them plus AW coming back and every other starter or role player a year older. This BU team will be better then last year's team and I do not see ISU improving, SIU was sub-par last year, CU will be good but they are lacking some bigs and are beatable. The only reason I'd pick BU 5th is due to the question marks of a healthy AW and WE."Educate and inform the whole mass of the people...they are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty."

SFP, agree 100%. The people that do the polls do not know what most of us here know. We've got two good players coming back from injury, we would have maybe won 24-26 games last year with them and we have a very good freshman class, so that's like adding 6 new players to a good group. We are a very deep team. I'm looking forward to an exciting season, I just hope we get off to a good start. I want to see us play Illinois and win. I see us finishing in first place and going back to the S16 or more

I completely agree about BU, we lost a very good player in Wilson and a tall center without awhole lot of production. We have a very experienced back court, Warren when healthy is equal to any other player in the conference, we return a decent amount of experience and talent in Roberts, Dunson and Brown. None of this is considering a 6th year from Singh a healthy Egolf or any freshman.
I understand UNI but even them we were playing any defense and a silly intentinal foul away from possibly sweeping them, we should have swept ISU last year, if we do anything at all in the first half at SIU we sweep them, I admit we struggle with CU but I just do not see where this Bradley team can be looked at as a possible play in team. Something like 7th will only happen if injuries destroy this team, but even then JL has found a way to win games.
Every single Valley game is a struggle and battle but I think our athletes, our experience and our basketball abilities are better then every team in this conference other then UNI and CU. And that is because UNI is reigning champs beat us 3 times and CU bet us 2 times everyone else we are better then.

man this board sounds like a broken record sometimes..."BU WILL end up in the final 3 this year....BOOK IT" hahaha
don't get me wrong I think we've had the potential and the skill to be better than 4th every year since the sweet 16 but something has always happened to make that not a reality...
no more booking it and lets see what happens now...

If we dont believe in our team, then I am certain no one else is going to believe in this team.
And not to make excuses but yes every year something has happened but that something has been an injury or more to key members of the team. If that can be avoided there is absolutely no reason to not think this current team is not capable of a high finish within the Valley.

Hey -- did you guys know Carlton Fay graduated?? That's what these guys say...
and somehow Tony Boyle found a way to get more eligibility!
as you read on, it is apparent the guy is really mixed up....!
"The frontcourt lost its best scorer in Carlton Fay. During his senior campaign,
Fay tallied 10.4 points per game and added 4.6 rebounds. Tony Boyle will be
the new go-to-guy in the paint. Boyle was the team’s most effective player
on the glass last season and could be again this year.
With Fay gone, Booker will have to step up ...
Replacing Fay is what could turn this team around. .........can this team be
that much better than they were last year without Bryan Mullins and Tony Boyle?"
btw-- last year he picked SIU to be 2nd in the MVC right behind Creighton and at #43 overall!
I guess he didn't want to get embarrassed again.
