I don't disagree with you, I was happy those games were scheduled. If we would have won them we would have been top 25. I'm talking about NIU in this thread and I still say I like the game. Even tho you'll probably pick apart my wording of it.

Which scenario do you believe is better for BU?

no, I don't have any problem with our staff scheduling instate foes, especially when it gets us a game in or near Chicago...
but before anyone spends much time picking apart BU's scheduling, then all I suggest is take just a few seconds this summer or fall and find Virnette or JL and ask them to tell you about how hard it is to schedule and get anyone to play us...

How many votes do the moderators get here? I only get one vote. I expect the vote to be 100 to 6 by the time it's over, kind of reminds me of a different country. How do you spell Politbyuro What do you have against playing NIU when any year we could schedule a top 15 team. After looking at this I might start hoping that NIU beats us. Go NIU!!

And I don't know about the other mods, but I have not voted, and tend not to vote in polls.
Nobody has moderated anything in this thread, so what are you talking about?

It's all about the RPI. The power numbers. Playing a 300+ school is bad, period, for the RPI, no matter the result of the game. It is worth many, many RPI spots, and the SoS gets wrecked. You'd have to play 3 or so top 15 RPI teams to offset it.
In fact, playing no one over 200 is prefereable. This is actually a case where it's better to play them on the road - get the bonus for the road win.
Again, I don't squawk at playing NIU as long as it's made up for in other areas of the sked.

not sure what you mean, but of course someone has to moderate...but for about 6 months, it hasn't been me...
anyway, someone has to do it, and the success and growth of BradleyFans, while similar sites, especially the competing local such sites have dried up and blown away suggests something is being done right on BradleyFans...
even huge corporate backed competing sites go weeks without anything posted...
here is but one example, but I can supply at least two more examples if you want to PM me, I just don't want to post their links as it would actually double their hit count that they use to sell the pop up ads you get hit with all the time...
(this one hasn't had a single post in 2.5 months, and nothing useful in a year)
what is your security filter doing?
I have never heard anyone say their security system gave them trouble before...but some people have their systems set to filter talk sites, chat rooms, and the like...so maybe it's the settings you have...
maybe Da Coach can answer that...
security systems can be set to do whatever....
at one place I work, you can't get ESPN, and it's set that way because people spend too much time checking fantasy sites, and rarely on my own system a page is filtered because of a single word that's detected that triggers a preset parental control

I know of no reason why anyone's "internet security filter" would "keep popping up 2-3 times a day" when they're on this site. This is the first I have ever heard of this, and we've had this site running for 4 1/2 years.
We do not have ads, popups, or anything that other sites have. The only thing this site does is plant a cookie (virtually every internet site does this) to recognize you when you return so the board can designate which posts you've already read and which are new to you.
And, of course, mods can edit and delete posts, that is what moderating is all about. It's the main reason this site is so popular, because we don't allow objectionable, or vulgar material, and we don't allow discussions to turn into personal attacks or degenerate into back-and-forth bickering like most other bulletin boards do, and which no one wants to read.
But nothing had been edited or deleted in this thread, and you aren't being picked on.
This is the last we will allow of this discussion about the moderating. I think the mod team does a fantastic job, considering they volunteer their time and resources.
As always, this site is privately owned and paid for and run by individuals who are 100% volunteer. The rules are clearly posted, and the moderating is entirely up to the discretion of the moderators. There is no free-speech issue, as this is a privately owned site and everyone here is a guest. We ask that if anyone has a problem, PM a mod and do not post complaints on the board.
Any one who does not like the way this site is run is free to leave, visit other sites, or start their own.

I get it every once in awhile, even when I browse here, but clearing out them cookies solves any problem.

Playing a top 15 team.
Games against 200+ RPI teams are not good. We would have everything to lose & nothing to gain. Games against top 15 teams raise our stature, help us in recruiting, and allow us to measure ourselves against very good competition. Our players are really "UP" for such games and so are our fans.

I'm sorry if I've gone a little bit overboard in this thread. But I still like the NIU game. I don't know why the poster who started this thread was not spending his day at Fisherman's Wharf or up on Nob Hill eating at a great restaurant rather than picking on NIU
