  • Kansas' NCAA appeal

Members of the Kansas delegation had 8-9 hours with the NCAA infractions committee yesterday.
There are several major infractions being reviewed including payments of cash and extra benefits to two different basketball
players, Darnell Jackson and JR Giddens.
The NCAA is expected to rule in several weeks, but one report noted that of members of the 10-member NCAA Infractions
Committee, a couple might be a little bit less than objective.
One member, Ted Leland (present vice president of Pacific University) has a daughter who works as personal secretary for
one of the Kansas University basketball coaches.
Another, Josephine Potuto, is a law professor at a Big XII school (Nebraska).

I would be surprised if Kansas got any additional punishment

My money is on the penalties being reduced/nullified.
