I am also in agreement with your preview...and I think Jake will get a chance like Darian did last year, but he'd better produce.
A few years ago, we had a "lights out" shooter come in as a freshman, but after he got decent minutes in a dozen or so games,
he had only hit 3 of 17 shots and 1-12 from 3-pt range....
I am really hoping Jake does better than that!

None of us here have ever seen Jake play, so we'll know more when we do. He averaged 7.5 assists per game in HS. He played a lot of point guard, and looks like he is a very good ballhandler in all the video clips we've seen. He did have another D1 interior player on his team (Josh Brinkley- who is going to Delaware), so I suspect a lot of his assists came from getting the ball to him.
Jeremy Crouch turned himself into a very good ball-handler, and shooter, and learned to create some of his own shots. He was not always a deadeye shooter in high school, but worked really hard on that aspect of his game when he got to Bradley. It might take Jake a while to be able to do that against D1 opposition. They are very similar players, but I think at this stage, Jake may be a better ball-handler and shooter than JC was in HS.
Some videos and articles that have been posted before, but here they are again for thjose who haven't seen them:
Here is a YouTube video of Jake Eastman (#1 in blue) at point guard, driving to the basket for a shot, a miss, and the putback by teammate Josh Brinkley-

I never saw anyone mention Jakes defensive game? How does it look ? Im pretty sure the best way for a JL freshman guard to get minutes starts with defense.Lets surrender ..... Chesty Puller.... "H*$$ NO !!! we have the enemy right where we want them they can't hide"
