I think DD can be an effective "lock-down" defender when he is motivated to be such. I think this can/should be his greatest asset to the team.
IMO, DD is a great role player since he really doesn't excel at any one thing. He's good enough to come off the bench and fill either the SG or PG spot on a short term basis. I know he had the team's best 3-point %, but my God, he must have one of the ugliest shots I've ever seen. The thing looks like a Phil Niekro knuckleball.
I really love DD when he slashes to the best for a quick layup, pull up "J", or dish. I think he has the potential to be the MVC 6th man of the year. But I doubt if he'll average more points than last year.... there is just too much returning and new talent. And that's a good thing
