  • Coack K's salary

ESPN reports that the The Herald-Sun newspaper of Durham, NC, obtained the IRS returns for Duke University, and they show that men's basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski earned more than $3.6 million in salary and bonuses for the past fiscal year.

His pay the preceeding year was about $2.2 million, so he made a nice increase this past year. This is only his pay from Duke, and does not include possibly millions more in endorsements that he makes, or his pay for coaching the US National teams.

His booking fee reportedly starts in the 6-figure range.

I think he's earned every penny. He's brought huge national prominence to Duke, and I can't imagine the income that has generated from boosters and merchandising, not to mention the millions from the NCAA for all the final fours and national championships. From everything I see he's done things the right way, his kids graduate, and they've had very little negative press. That being said, I hate Duke.

Krzyzewski's salary is about 3?? times that of Duke's next highest-paid employee. Chancellor emeritus Dr. Ralph Snyderman made about $983,000.

Speaking of Coach K............... There is now a rumor making the rounds in the NC media that The Lakers may go hard after Coach K if Phil "Zen-Master" Jackson retires. Time will tell.................
