  • Justice?

    Anyone remember this??
A couple years ago basketball star Tyreke Evans was driving some thugs around in an SUV in Philly, and Tyreke's cousin fired a gun out the window and killed a man.
The cousin has been convicted, but Tyreke, who drove off and ran from the scene, was never charged.

Maybe the even more telling fact is that BOTH Maryland's Gary Williams and Memphis' John Calipari pursued this guy hard to land him.
    Justice in Philly is strange

The cousin of basketball star Tyreke Evans was sentenced today for the murder of a Delaware County man and will serve at least nine years in prison.

Evans grew up in a pretty tough, gang-infested neighborhood outside of Philly (Chester,PA) Older brothers did their best to keep him insulated. Evans was driving the car, but according to police testimony had no knowledge of the gun being in the car. He also testified against his cousin. He played for a buddy of mine back in PA and from all accounts is a great kid who has overcome a lot. Besides... if we stopped cheering for all the pro athletes who have had scrapes with the law, who would we root for?????

that's why I like the MLB.... there are enough players that eventually you can find a non-cheating, clean, criminal free player.

I just have never been able to get into NBA hoops...and as a coach you would think I would....I do like to follow BU and Illinois players...but just can't get excited about NBA in general.....I do follow the MLB.... Cards and Cubs....and follow the Fins and Bears in the NFL.....
