Bradley will play BYU in Utah in November, and there is bad news tonight about popular BYU coach Dave Rose. Over a week ago, he was hospitalized while attending a family event in Las Veags, and underwent an emergency splenectomy for waht was described as internal bleeding.
Now it is being revealed that he also had part of his pancreas removed, and that he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
The type of cancer is being described as a neuroendocrine tumor, which has a slightly better prognosis than the more common type of pancreatic cancer- adenocarcinoma.
Overall, pancreatic cancer has a very poor prognosis, mainly due to the fact that it often is quite far advanced, and usually spread to other organs before any symptoms arise that lead to a diagnosis. It sounds like Rose's cancer may have been discovered a little earlier than most. Let's hope so.
