As usual, after the Lakers won the NBA championship last night, fans went a little too far with their celebrations.

a couple interesting stats.........
2008- Lakers lose and the Celts are the CHAMPS
2009- Lakers win and are Champs
and the media tells us that Kobe matured, became a team player, and leader, and was so much better this year than last year.
OK...here are the numbers for the playoffs.........
2008-21 games, 30.1 pts, 5.7 reb, 5.6 ast, 3.3 TO, 22.0 FGA, 9.2 FTA, 47.9 FG%, 81 FT%, 30 3FG%
2009-23 games, 30.2 pts, 5.3 reb, 5.5 ast, 2.6 TO, 23.0 FGA, 8.6 FTA, 45.7 FG%, 88 FT%, 35 3FG%
and in the finals, he shot 27.0 times per game this year compared to 21.8 times per game last year.
Make what you want, but Kobe is a very good basketball player, and was consistent this year compared to last year..
Maybe he has better teammates, maybe the opponent was weaker this year, but there isn't a whole lot of evidence for a BIG change in Kobe as the media would have you think.
