Each of the following teams either moved or took a different name and are now known by a completely different name....

see if you can guess what team these older pro teams became..

    here is an example...
The Philadelphia Warriors that won the 1967 NBA Championship moved to San Francisco and are now known as ......the Golden State Warriors..

Here are a few others for you to figure out......

--the Tri-Cities Blackhawks (the original "tri-cities" were Moline, Rock Island, and Davenport)

    --The Chicago Zephyrs

    --The Syracuse Nationals

    --The Denver Larks

--then a tough one....The Houston Mavericks

    --the Texas Chaparrals

--and lastly...why are the Lakers called by that name, as there really aren't any Lakes in Los Angeles? And what was their original name?

Answers - mouse over to read...
Tri-Cities Blackhawks came from Buffalo, NY, then moved on from Moline to Milwaukee, then they became the St. Louis Hawks, then finally became the Atlanta Hawks

The Chicago Zephyrs started in Chicago as the Packers, then moved later to Baltimore, ultimately becoming the Washington Bullets then the Wizards.

The Syracuse Nationals are the present Philadelphia 76'ers.

This one will fool some people, because the Denver Larks changed after only one year to the Denver Rockets - BUT DID NOT become the Houston Rockets...but instead simply stayed in Denver and changed their name in 1974 to the Nuggets.

The Houston Mavericks began in 1967 then moved in 1969 to North Carolina and became the Carolina Cougars, then they moved on to St. Louis and became the Spirits of St. Louis, then in 1975 moved to Utah to become the Utah Rockies, then they disbanded and did not becaome part of the ABA-NBA merger.

This one's easy, they became the San Antonio Spurs and still are

The Lakers got their name while they were a franchise in Minneapolis not in Los Angeles, and of course, Minnesota is the land of 10,000 lakes!
However....their very first name was the 1946 Detroit Gems, where, after just one year they moved to Minneapolis and became the Lakers.
