Hmmmm....
So I am wondering.
Is it REALLY worth it to take an OJ Mayo? A D Rose? Etc. Really worth it? REALLY???
(I say) Oh yea! (if it is a BCS affiliated school)
Memphis and USC won't be charbroiled by (Peoria's) local media in little ole Peoria. The dumb-arses that still think the PJS tells them everything won't even know about this.
But oh... BCS schools really don't cheat. Only every once in a while... (when they get caught).
So go ahead all you BCS fans of BCS teams... swag your big cojones. You never (get caught in a) cheat. Only the Non-BCS teams cheat just to keep up with the BCS League teams.
But we will have our local rag (the PJS) let us know how much of a disappointment Bradley is when something (smaller than what goes on elsewhere) makes them such a bad University.

you know...if you asked me 2-3 years ago just who were the 5-6 dirtiest, blatantly cheating programs in D-I,
I would have said based on the clear evidence that was openly available of NCAA violations, drug use, players being paid, bar fights, etc..,
that it would clearly be...Indiana (Kelvin Sampson), Memphis (Calipari), USC (Floyd), UConn (Calhoun), Kentucky, and Kansas.
Now, four of the five have gone down hard, really hard...and one more got off soft, even though they found serious violations.
and even one other, Kentucky, is reeling with two coaching changes in the past 2 years and the cloud of suspicion over Cal...
so each has dug it's own grave.....each has hung themselves with their greed....and I can't really say I feel sorry for them.
so I guess it proves that where there's smoke, there's fire.....
so the question I ask is why it took so long for the NCAA to find the filth in these programs and why it took so long for the media
to actually print the stuff that's been known and talked about in the blogs & message boards for years?
More evidence of the pro-BCS bias...
BTW-- here are a couple articles about the LONG delay and all the silence regarding the blatant cheating going on for years at USC.
in the end, USC is apparently hoping for the same leniency and non-existent penalties Indiana got, because they sent
Sampson packing and claimed they had cleaned house and the problem was already solved...........

The early names being mentioned to replace Floyd....(and no, nobody's suggesting Kelvin Sampson)
--Mississippi State's Rick Stansbury
--Pitt's Jamie Dixon (back when it looked like Floyd might go to Arizona, Dixon somewhat openly suggested he'd be interested in the USC position - he is a California native and his long time friend and mentor Ben Howland is at UCLA)
--Billy Gillispie
--Lon Kruger who wants back to the BCS level and who may be one of their top targets
--Reggie Theus
--then the inevitable mention of Bobby Knight!
--but even some rumors that Rick Pitino might just want out of the hot spot Louisville...and get out west
--and a couple mentions of Paul Westphal, but as of this morning, he now has a job...
The Sacramento Kings reached an agreement in principle with Paul Westphal late Tuesday night to be their fourth new coach in just over three years.
One problem is that USC is not viewed, despite the good salary, as a top spot ebcause it is considered a football school, and basketball is the poor sister....drawing small crowds!
the folks at Arizona are ecstatic that Tim Floyd turned down their offer a couple months ago!
The SIU board thinks Chris Lowery is going to be considered...

Here's another coach stepping down...
the head basketball coach at Holy Cross has stepped down to take an assistant spot (vacated when Rick Pitino's son left) at Louisville under head coach Rick Pitino.

Here is the problem with committing to college at such an early age. Floyd's resignation will likely affect the decision of a 2011 recruit from Illinois, Ryan Boatright, who had verbally committed to USC before his freshman season.-
Suburbs Aurora Beacon-News Lake County News Sun Northbrook Star Elgin Courier-News Naperville Sun The Doings – Oak Brook Daily Southtown Post-Tribune Oak Leaves Arlington Heights Post…
Note a major mistake in the first sentence of the article-
"news that University of Southern California men's coach Tim Floyd was resigning in the wake of alleged recruiting violations surrounding former Trojan and current Minnesota Timberwolves guard O.J. Mayo."
Mayo plays for the Memphis Grizzlies, not the Minnesota Timberwolves.
He was drafted by the Timberwolves, but was immediately traded to the Memphis Grizzlies where he currently plays, and where he played his rookie season.

Boatright wasn't the only kid who verballed to USC when he was just an 8th grader...
this kid, Dwayne Polee, Jr., from LA did the same thing way back in '06, and is still a year away...and now likely will re-think his verbal to USC and be back on the market...espedcially if his dad gets fired from his phony job at USC that he was given by Tim Floyd in order to land the prospect.
but that doesn't bother a whole lot of USC fans, since the kid came with a price....when Tim Floyd had to hire the kid's dad as an "assistant coach" (actually the 'Director of Basketball Operations' - whatever that is) in order to land him...and the younger Polee hasn't really panned out as hoped and remains just a 3-Star recruit...with a lot of questions about his abilities.

Now officially, Tim Floyd's effort to secure commitments from 8th graders is a total failure...
Boatright has just decommited and reopened his recruitment.
Stay up to date with all the DePaul Blue Demons sports news, recruiting, transfers, and more at 247Sports.com
after his verbal to USC in 8th grade, Boatright was ranked the #1 Class of 2011 kid in the nation...
now he isn't even Top 100 nationally or even Top 10 in the state....he hasn't grown much either and is said to be 5-10 & about 130lb.
DePaul has expressed interest...
