  • Nice mention of 2007 Bradley recruit Sam Maniscalco

    See the 3rd paragraph--

Illinois Wolves head coach Mike Mullins can do nothing but rave about the play this spring and summer of Bradley-bound Sam Maniscalco (Chicago St. Patrick). Mullins feels that Maniscalco was as solid and consistent between the months of April and July as any player on his roster. Maniscalco, a defensive hawk, boasted one of the best assist-to-turnover ratios of any player at the loaded Reebok Big Time Tournament Las Vegas, Nevada. Maniscalso is now preparing to once again lead his St. Patrick team to battle in the always rugged East Suburban Catholic League.

These words are even more impressive when you consider the caliber of some of the other players on the roster of the Illinois Wolves.
    Evan Turner, SG (2007)
    Demetri McCamey, PG (2007)
    Carlton Fay, C/PF (2007)
    Jon Rice, PG (2007)
    Sam Maniscalco, PG (2007)
    Mike Balletto, SG (2007)
    Dwight McCombs, PF (2007)
    Matt Collins, SG/PG (2007)
    Dan Schouten, SF (2007)
    Rasheed Mitchell, SG/PG (2007)
    Mike Stovall, SG (2007)
    Rob Belcore (2007)

Mike Mullins is also the father of Southern Illinois point guard Bryan Mullins.

Sounds great! Looks like Bradley's got a good one.

Keep us informed on how Sam does this year.

    Thanks.

wonder how good of college team the illinois wolves would be if they all went to the same college and continued to play together.alot of talent on that team.

Wasn't Bradley recruiting Carlton Fay and Evan Turner? And probably some of the others. Would have been nice to get Fay at Bradley.
From PJ Star sports expert Kirk Wessler in his Jan. 10, 2012 column following 8th loss in a row at Drake-
"Yes, the Braves are better than they were when the season started two months ago. By a light year or two, they??™re better."

And from the PJ Star 4/26/12, Dave Reynolds-
"Fields and Grier both appear to be difference makers. If Bradley continues to add the right players around them, happy days may be ahead for the Braves after a long dry spell."

I wonder - the Illinois Wolves could possibly beat ICC.

Maybe depth would be an issue but the starters could hang with 'em

              Bradley recruiting target commits

His name didn't come up much on this board, but
Dwight McCombs just committed to Miami of Ohio.

He is from Chicago Whitney Young, and played on the same Illinois Wolves AAU team as Sam Maniscalco, Carlton Fay, Evan Turner.

Here is some coverage about his committment to Miami, and it mentions that Bradley as well as Toledo, Wyoming, and St. Louis had offered.
