This all happened up through November, 2008 and involved multiple members of the University of Kentucky basketball team (& other athletes)
getting free meals at a local Lexington, KY restaurant that is owned and operated by a big time UK booster.
Funny how little has been said of this before, and even this article seems to treat the violations as if
they were the acts of a Good Samaritan just trying to help the poor kids out...
But this report notes at least 59 such violations....and surely this amount of impermissible benefits intentionally
by a UK booster who knew these were violations, that this is a more serious issue than a harmless batch of minor secondary violations..
Plus it details how the guy who represented UK as a booster also was guilty of
"this willful violation" of NCAA rules and "subsequent reluctance to be truthful during the investigation"
So the guy also lied to investigators!!
So just how does UK get off so easy???
....but then this is Kentucky!!
Note how the info about these Kentucky violations was hidden and censored so the press and the public would not find out...
You just gotta wonder how many other times these BCS guys have been caught yet given tiny or non-existent penalties!!
All the while, places like SEMO and Alabama State are getting hammered and plastered ni the headlines!!
