  • MVC Fantasy League

Has anyone ever done a Missouri Valley Conference Fantasy Basketball league? I'm not sure exactly how it would work, but since I play fantasy sports on pretty much every other sport on earth, I thought it would be fun.

If anyone has any thoughts or ideas, or if they know of a website that would run it for us, let me know.

    Would anyone be interested?

I was in one around 2001 or so. It was just conference games. I think the scoring system only used points and rebounds. The whole thing was done manually by somebody on rbf.com. It did force me to read some preseason magazines and try to find some guys at the backend of the roster that could get me some points.

I'd be interested in doing it again.

Last year I ran an MVC-Big 10 fantasy league with some friends. The big problem is that there aren't any decent sites out there that host fantasy college hoops, certainly nothing to the level of Sportsline, ESPN, or even Yahoo to a lesser extent. The only site that I found where they somewhat let you customize your league was this one - http://www.u-sports.com/default.aspx. It's not a real good site really, but it's the only one I could find where I could customize the player pool to just MVC/Big 10.

The league was OK, I ended up losing in the finals because Creighton got destroyed by ISU in the MVC semis and I didn't have Stinnett or Lawson for one more game. Creighton's failure not only cost the MVC a bid, but it cost me some cash and pride as well.
