released his 3A All State Team.....

Powers is one of the best evaluators and makes sure he actually sees and evaluates all the kids and doesn't go on hearsay.
But he is always very heavily Chicago centered and focused and it's not too unusual for him to totally ignore downstate players in favor of lesser Chicago-area players
(Pointer on the 1st Team is a perfect example as well as having all Chicago kids on 1st team.....nobody else even has Pointer near that high),
but here is his selection........

Jordan Prosser is his 2A POY, Dakota Getz is the 1A POY, and Jereme Richmond is 4A POY.

Darius Smith - Chicago Marshall....

Time to revisit the saga of Darius Smith...

Bradley really wanted Smith, and he was even close to coming to BU until an offer from UConn appeared...and since Darius was aiming higher he jumped at it..

But, UConn is playing porrly this year, might not make the NCAA, and here's what's going on with Darius...

he barely plays...
He gets a handful of minutes every 3 or 4 games...
Darius last played four games ago and in 4 minutes vs. Cincy had NO points and four fouls in UConn's 60-48 loss....he hasn't played since...
Rumors have it he's in the doghouse and isn't going to play any more this season...
He only played one minute in the DePaul game and two minutes in the Marquette game...otherwise he's getting splinters in his butt...
On the season, he's only appeared in 14 games and avg 4 minutes per game, and he's only made 3 baskets all year!!

Can you imagine if Dyricus is getting 25-32 minutes per game and really contributing, that Smith would have been getting major playing time and contributing had he come to BU....
I gotta think he's mulling that thought in his mind at this very moment...
Many of the fans on the UConn message boards are beginning to speculate he might be gone - as UConn is making a HUGE push for 5-Star combo guard Josh Selby

I say.....Darius...come on down.........make the right choice!!

Another example of biting off more then he could chew. We can find a spot for Darius and it would be perfect timing losing SM after next year. Makes sense to me love to have Darius as a Brave.

At the end of his recruitment, Darius held offers from UConn, Kentucky, Marquette, UCLA, Missouri, Memphis, Indiana, and Arizona State. He even held an interview with Dave Kaplan to brag about his offers and announce his commitment to UConn on television. I don't think he would consider Bradley even if he were to transfer.
