  • Bradley in Las Vegas Invitational- Nov. 27-28- news for those planning to go

It has already been announced that Bradley is playing in the 2009 Las Vegas Invitational tournament on November 28-29 at the Orleans Arena--
PEORIA, Ill. -- Two games against the trio of Illinois, Oklahoma State and Utah will await the Bradley men's basketball team when the Braves travel to Las Vegas for the final two rounds of the 2009 Las Vegas Invitational Challenge, which will be played the week of Thanksgiving next season on campus sites and at the Orleans Center in Las Vegas.? The four-game exempt tournament will begin with a pair of campus site games at Bradley, Illinois, Oklahoma State and Utah.? Bradley will host its first two games against yet-to-be-determined opponents Sunday, Nov. 22 and Tuesday, Nov. 24 at Carver Arena.? The Braves and Illini will be paired in opposite brackets in Las Vegas and will play Oklahoma State and Utah in third-round action Friday, Nov. 27 at the Orleans Center in Las Vegas.? The specific matchups for the two evening session games will not be determined until the spring.? The third-round winners will face off in the tournament finale Saturday, Nov. 28, immediately following a matchup of the third-round losers.

Bradley arranged a charter trip for fans, but that charter is full. So if anyone else is considering going to Las Vegas to watch Bradley play in this tournament, you will need to make your own travel arrangements.

PM me if you are a Bradley fan and are interested in making this trip in November and want some breaking information about travel arrangements from Peoria to Las Vegas.

I've been talking up a get-together of a group of UIUC and Bradley fans to settle in at BW3's in Grand Prairie (if the two teams meet up in the tourney). Wings and beer... running a large tab. Losers get the tab. Course, I will demand knowledge of "party alignment" prior to tip off and also looking for equal representation. So far I have some VERY confident UIUC fans on-board and already convinced they will not need their wallet. I might need a couple from this forum to help "round out the field" of winners representing Bradley.

Then again, maybe one team makes it to the Championship and the other doesn't. Best laid plans....

Here is some news regarding the November Las Vegas Invitational tournament that Bradley will participate in--

Bradley quickly filled a charter flight to Vegas, and they have just announced that they have booked a 2nd charter plane.
This flight leaves Peoria Friday, November 27 and returns Monday, November 30. Bradley plays games on Friday and Saturday nights (Nov. 27 & 2.
There are already a number of people committed to this 2nd plane, so if anyone is interested, call 309-677-3000.

Here is more information, including costs--

For those that will make their own arrangements, how much are tickets to the game and how can you get them?

I do not believe there is an answer for that question yet.
I checked with the Orleans Arena, and they do not have any information yet about this tournament. Bradley will be getting some tickets, but they do not know how many or the cost, yet. And they will be reserving a number for their people, and for the charters. It may be a couple months before we know, but there should be tickets available.

Some updates on the Las Vegas Invitational -

Tickets go on sale to the general public this Saturday. Here's a link to the seating chart and prices.

Also, the rest of the field has been announced...and it's not very good.

Seattle University - Provisional DI (similar to SIU-E)
Presbyterian College - Big South. 12-17, RPI of 215
                  Wofford University - SoCon. 15-14, RPI 172
                  Southern University - SWAC. 8-23, RPI 335

Let's hope we get Presbyterian and Wofford as our two home games. BU's opponents have not been announced yet.
                  Onward and Upward!

Does anyone know if this is the best way for those of us who are planning to go, but won't be coming on the charter from Peoria? I'd like to be in the BU section, if possible. Is it possible to buy tickets directly from the school outside of the charter option?

Does this mean you cannot buy tickets for individual games? I didnt think I would have to spend that much money for tickets to these games.....

Per Wikipedia, bball capacity is 7471. The tickets seemed a bit pricey to me too, but I suppose when you divide the cost by 4 games (or even the 2 I really care about) it's not that bad. Anyhow, driving to Vegas is a lot cheaper for me than flying to Peoria.

I talked to Ken Goldin tonight, and he says Bradley will have extra tickets for sale to Bradley fans. Contact Ken's office about tickets just to the 2 night sessions when Bradley will be playing.

Note- from what I was told, I believe Bradley's tickets are in section 102-

Pretty pricey tickets. I just asked my GF if she had to go to the game! She said what are you up to? LOL! I guess it could be cheaper then a whole spa package.
