      BU website...
Junior Jacqueline Vitale and senior Miriam Wegmann each hit solo home runs and junior Amanda Clack robbed Creighton's Bailey Dawson of a potential game-tying two-run homer in the bottom of the fourth to highlight a 2-0 Bradley win over the Bluejays in the championship game of the 2009 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Championship.? The tournament title is the first for the Braves and Bradley receives the MVC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

I haven't watched a girl's softball game in many, many years. Watched the last 3 innings today. Was really impressed by the defense both teams played. Congrats and good luck in the big dance.
What part of illegal don't you understand?

Not my favorite photo but this one says it all. My thanks to the PJS and Ron Johnson and Matt Dayhoff for some great action photos...

My favorite pic...it oughta be on ESPN

            Bradley centerfielder Amanda Clack robs
a Creighton hitter of a game-tying home run
in the fourth inning with a catch just outside
the fence during the MVC Tournament title
            game Saturday at EastSide Center.

Does anyone know the format of the NCAA softball tourney? I can't find it anywhere. Is it single-elimination?

The tourney starts with 16 regional sites. Double elimination. 4 teams per region.

Then 8 super regional sites. Double elimination. 2 teams per super region.

Finally, 8 teams go to the world's series. Double elimination.

                Good luck Braves!!

Heard from some of the softball players that they are EXCITED about the bracket they got placed into. Apparently it was the best one they could have gotten into (I'm assuming because it provides the most possibility for them to succeed).

                      GO BU!

Rather amusingly, it appears Creighton's at large bubble burst. Mid majors get the shaft again

All the selection committees are crooked.

It's not a basketball-only issue. It's across all sports and is a widespread problem of simple selection committee philosophy mandated by the NCAA. By "fixing" the basketball injustices, they'd actually just make basketball different than the other sports.

It's time to attack it on all fronts - ALL sports.

Each game Bradley plays will be broadcast on ESPN Radio 96.5, and if there is a conflict with a Chiefs' game, the softball games will most likely air on Hippie Radio...
