Marne Fauser, Bradley women's Director of Basketball Operations has been named head coach of the women's team at University of Illinois-Springfield.
Marne Fauser is a Peoria-area native. She was a star athlete at Bartonville Limestone High School, then was a two-time letter winner at Illinois Central College and helped them to two regional titles and a fourth-place finish in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II women’s basketball tournament during the 1995-96 season.
She then transferred to Truman State for the 1996-97 season and earned honorable mention all-conference recognition after averaging 7.7 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.
Her senior year, Fauser averaged 7.7 points and 4.8 rebounds while ranking second on the team in steals with 41. She was a two-time team co-captain and won the squad’s leadership award following her senior year.
She graduated from Truman State in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
