Was that the 1974 Louisville game? If so, as I remember it was Doug Shank who took the bad shot by driving down the lane and had his shot rejected resulting in a layup at the other end. It took me a week to recover from that game. My nominee is Dave Klobucher. He was an important part of that team who did the dirty work. Dave should be in the BU Hall of Fame. He also had a good Baseball career at BU!!

Greg Smith and Doug Shank missed shots at the end in that game and I think Junior Bridgeman was the hero for Louisville...heartbreaker!!

I don't remember who their hero was, but it probably was JB as he was quite a ballplayer. I do remember Greg always had a good turn a round jump shop from the baseline. Doug's play was one where he drove the lane and had no where to go. My question has always been, why call timeout with a 3 point lead and only 30 some seconds to go? There was no shot clock at that time.

And I'm not the only one. If calling time-out with a 3 point lead and the ball with no shot clock and less a minute to play made sense I wouldn't still be haunted.

I remember

I remember a player in the 70's who had some nights against UNLV where he appeared unstoppable. This players name is Roger Phegley. I also appreciated Bobby Humbles.

Right after Joe Allen, how about Greg Smith who played center against some of the best centers in the country at the time though he only stood about 6'5"!! And speaking of undersized guys that we love because they overachieved...how bout Bobby Ford? At 6'4" he played the hybrid "4" spot frequently, back during an era when PFs were all 6'7"...(Taylor Brown reminds me of Ford a little)

Another undersized guy who played bigs was Rosevelt Davidson. But then again so did Matt Salley. When Davidson played that was the dark era for Versace. Between Anderson and Hawkins.

RD was one of the most aggressive 6'4 players the Braves ever had!
