Truthfully it's a moot point whether he has D1 talent right now or not or whether he's being recruited by any other D1 teams. It is clear that if he wants it, he has an opportunity to play D1 ball and that he is very skilled in at least two very important areas (shooting and ball handling) that can equate to success at that level.

I'd like to have a dollar for everytime someone on a message board complained about the recruitment of someone who was an "athlete" first who lacked true basketball skills. This case is the pendulum swung the other way, a heady kid who can handle the rock and shoot lights out from long distance.

Maybe I'm reading between the lines, but usually the "haters" who look at the Molinari's & TL's of the world are those who never had an opportunity like this and are a little envious. There is a very small "window of opportunity" to play college sports and if you aren't in the right position at a certain moment in time, that opportunity can pass you by. I'm willing to bet that in time, both Little Mo & TL will be nice additions to their teams. I would never begrudge a young man the opportunity for a free education and to play the sport they love. Especially in this case of TL where he can truthfully only have upside (IMO) for the BU program.

I do give credit to Vikesfan for bringing up some thought provoking questions, but I see JL as a "players coach" who is involved enough with his players that I don't see those issues becoming a problem, except maybe the fact that if TL plays for him he's going to have Dad in his business for another 4 years.

I wonder how many people who are assessing Tyler Les are also the folks who claimed the starting five of ICC in 2007 were all DI talents and they could beat Bradley's starting five.
Nice try.........Of course, not one of those five had any DI success...as most of the BU fans knew full well......while BU's starting five are all quite successfully playing professional ball.

I think there has been one point that really hasn't been discussed and that is the question or whether Tyler would want to play for JL and vice versa. I don't have a son that age yet but I think it is a significant decision. Does Tyler want to be in the locker room as his peers are complaining about the coach, playing time etc....What if he's getting time in front of a guy who thinks he getting favored? Does JL have to worry about being tougher on his son than other players (and then dealing with mom). As much as you would like to think it would all work out smoothly, there are a lot of "issues" that can be created both personally as well as in the locker room by having your son. I'm sure they will weigh all his options, both on and off the court, and make the right decision.

Yeah, those are very good points. I do wonder how other coaches, who've had sons play for them, deal with that. I suppose you could assign an assistant coach to having absolute veto on playing time decisions regarding the son. Or maybe the coach does have to be harder on the son in front of the other players.

I doubt either son will have a problem playing for their dad's...I'm not saying it's easy because their is pressure on both sides but I think will manage just fine.

In the same token I doubt either Billy Mo or TL(assuming he goes to BU) would play at respectives schools under scholarship unless their dad's were coaching.
I know some will take that as a slam but it's not

I would think their could be some top BCS coaches that their sons may have player lower D-1 ball. I know one of Tubby's kids played for UGA but I'm pretty sure that he started there when Tubby was there.

I haven't researched it but I think he had a couple of sons playing for him when he was each school

found it GG played at UGA and I think was still there when Tubby went to Kentucky where Saul played for him.

The youngest Brian was a reserve at Mississippi graduating in 08 I think since I don't see him on this years roster

I'm not sure why emotions are so high on this thread. No one has ripped Tyler Les or anyone at all.

I have not seen one person say having Tyler Les on the roster would be a bad thing. I haven't seen one person say it would be a bad idea for him to come to Bradley and play for his dad--especially since it wouldn't cost a scholarship.

Sometimes its like posters want to make it pro's vs the con's even if that doesn't exist. Why make stuff up?

Fair enough - assume TL shoots even close 50% from 3 in his senior year (not the 70+% he shot in the 2nd half of last years conf sched). If his father was still a stockbroker and they were in Calif, do you think he might be getting some D1 interest? I'd bet BU fans would be hoping we could land him, sight unseen, just because he can shoot and his bloodlines.

numerous posters indeed did criticize and label Tyler as having no chance of being a DI player.
So, in answer to your question, it was not made up, I saw some of those exact posts you never saw and some of the mods can testify to same...
that's why the cautions about the language and criticism...the mods are properly doing their job...

I watched TL play several times this season. I see him as a mix between Matt Roth and Josh Edmonds which makes him a Justin Dehm type player. He has a roll on a D1 team and should consider all teams that need a shooter/off guard. He has some tools to work with.
