Whether he will compare to Nate Green, Shea Seals, Randy Buford, or Anthony Parker I do not know.
I do know one thing, he will give you 110% effort all the time, every time, on both ends of the floor.
The reason I like local guys is because of the caliber of basketball around town. There has not been the individual talent around lately that there used to be. Overall, even secondary players in the area often are succesfull in college. That is the only reason I care more about locals. That and the fact sometimes we may get in on kids that wouldn't consider BU if they weren't a fan to begin with.
I cetainly agree.
Besides, outside of the Walk-ons, it's not like Jim Les has been giving away roster spots to local kids. You didn't see JL offer guys like Josh Edmonds, Justin Dehm, Breland McKnight (grades may be an issue), Paris Gulley and Blake Mishler. These are/were borderline D-1 players coming out of high school, that Bradley did not go after.
Jim has a responsibility to get the best players he can, and DSE is one of the best available players left.
It is possible that Jim Les might have offered those you named, or others a walk-on spot on Bradley's roster. I have heard that he has done this in the past to kids like Ryan Thornton. But the cost of going to Bradley when a kid's family has to foot the bill is far higher at Bradley than it is at ISU or any state school. So it will always be harder for a school like Bradley to recruit quality walkons, unless there is some kind of promise the kid will get on scholarship his 2nd year like Drake does it.
