they will actually have 8 or more new guys who logged zero minutes last year but who will be expecting some playing time.
A. Hill, B. Hill, Carmichael, Mishler, Ekey, Johnson, Clark, Upshaw, and now Lewis.
It'll be interesting to see how they work all those new guys in.
Will it be like Indiana with their 10 new guys last year?

Time for another update..............
for the initial info, go back to the first post in this thread........
here are just the recent updates.....
Bradley nothing new since Norris left and BU got a LOI from Jake Eastman, DSE still pondering..
Creighton has a juco kid, Wayne Runnels (forward) and another juco Darryl Ashford (guard) committed
as has California guard Andrew Bock and slender 6-7 fwd Ethan Wragge of Minnesota..
and both Cavel Witter (guard) and Kenton Walker (center) have left
Drake loses Josh Parker who transferred to Dayton, they get newcomer/freshman David Smith, redshirt frosh
German Frank Wiseler and transfer Ryan Wedel. They may be thin up front with the loss of Bucky Cox.
Evansville just had THREE players leave (Granger, Williams, House) and also just got a new commitment
for next fall, Troy Taylor The Aces also just got a LOI from Texas guard Ned Cox who will join Taylor plus Colt Ryan,
Derek Johnson, Lewis Jones, and transfer Brian Bouchie among UE's 6 newcomers.
Illinois State Sead Odzic left and ISU landed verbals from Jackie Carmichael & Austin Hill for next fall added
to their four signees from last fall (Clark, Ekey, Johnson, Upshaw).
and don't foprget, a couple walk-ons, including Metamora's Blake Mishler will finally be eligible.
Indiana State Tyler Cutter has transferred out as has Marico Stinson.
But incoming are Logan and Lucas Eitel, Jake Kelly (will have to sit out a year), and Zach Odum.
Missouri State lost John Hayward-Mayhew has left, and they landed Michael Porter
They also have lost freshman Dominick Brumfield to transfer, and are rumored to be getting Iowa's
Jeff Peterson in transfer.(he will be a junior when eligible)
The ones they have confirmed for the fall are Porter (fwd), Lane Adams (guard) , Jerome Jones (fwd), and Keith Pickens (guard).
Also, MSU just lost out on one of their top two remaining targets, as the national junior college leader in 3-pt shooting,
Antoine Waton Watson from Redlands CC just verballed to FIU & new coach Isaih Thomas, and now they focus on
a kid named Nafis Ricks, the juco D-II Player of the Year who will decide between MSU, North Texas, UW-M, and Georgia State.
(ps -- let me heard again how juco Division II is as good as juco D-I....if the national POY gets only low to mid-major offers!!)
Southern Illinois got commitments from Eugene Teague who'll be a freshman and juco John Freeman who'll be a junior.
Also, Tony Freeman, added last year, will become eligible in the fall.
Northern Iowa just got a 2009 commitment and will get a LOI from Antonio Jones
Wichita State has Reggie Chamberlain and AJ Hawkins are leaving, and guard Tyler Richardson coming in
as well as non-scholarship player Brice Mayes. Other new players include guards Kenny Manigault &forward Jerome Hamilton who signed
last fall and forward Johnny Coy who transferred from Arizona State and will redshirt and not be eligible until mod-season.

ahhhh...here's a story that proves Isiah Thomas didn't take long to blend into the hard nosed world of college recruiting...

one note on the coaching front...
Wichita State's Gregg Marshall's contract extended one year...
with a couple of their players leaving this move is probably meant as a help to demonstrate Marshall is going to be there for a few years to come, so other schools don't start the rumor he's cutting out
also, SIU's Bryan Mullins, a really classy kid, has received a nice honor from NCAA

Ricks recently visited Arkansas, Creighton, and Missouri, and was offered by MU. So Ricks probably isn't a good example for your D-II argument.

I think so....
my point is that the entire first team, 2nd, and 3rd of D-I juco get recruited to DI four year schools, while only a small handful of D-II juco kids land anywhere above the low D-I level.
Even the POY from juco DII may not get a BCS offer...
This is not a knock on jucos, but a rebuttal to an argument some have made that the caliber of play and of players in DII junior college isn't much different from DI jucos

it is the rule unless he receives a waiver....so it could still change...
so it is the way it is unless something (that is not only quite unusual, but is likely to be even more unusual given some recent talk -- see below) changes it.

Here's what I believe to be the updated scholarship situation. However, I don't expect Indiana State to fill their final scholarship for next season with a new player.
