  • Dar Tucker signs with agent- withdraws from DePaul

DePaul's leading scorer and best player made it official last night- he is withdrawing from school, and will sign with an agent, assuring that his college career is over. This is bad news for Jerry Wainright and DePaul. Tucker had previously said he would enter the NBA draft, but not sign with an agent which would allow him to return to DePaul.
He was, by far, DePaul's leading scorer with 18.5 ppg, 5th in the Big East.
He is described as "freakishly athletic", but NBA scouts do not project him as a 1st round draft pick. He scoes a lot, but his overall shooting percentage is 39%, rather poor for a player who gets to the basket a lot and has a lot of dunks. His 3-point shooting percentage is only 28%.
He also averages 2.8 turnovers per game, and just 1.5 assists per game for a guard who touches the ball on nearly every possession.
With Tucker gone, DePaul , who was the worst team in the Big East last season, will likely be even worse next year.

Gotta admit.. Don't really understand this one. He's good, but another season might've improved his draft status, but it seems like now he's 2nd round/undrafted sort of material.

There are rumors that he, and maybe other DePaul players, simply are not willing to play for DePaul next year.

I suppose at worst he should have a long career in Europe.
