SIU is looking to go BIG inside...

three of their young low post players go...

    Eugene Teague 6-8, 300 lb
Jordan Myers 6-8, listed at 250 lb, suspect it might be more
Nick Evans 6-10, listed at 245 lb

    BTW - and I won't bother giving a link -...
elsewhere - on a different board - in a thread started BY AN SIU fan

Is he really calling him a thug or playing on the long standing joke at that site about SIU playing thug basketball?

That picture does look like a mug shot though.

I think you are right, and it's a joke. I checked google, and there is no history this kid has of any legal issues or anything that resembles thug behavior.
I think it looks like a good pickup for Lowery. I just wonder, with the abundance of schools in the East, how this kid slipped through the cracks, and ended up at SIU.

              From The Southern Illinoisan.

"Teague Jr. did not immediately return a message left Sunday. His father said SIU came into the picture after a Southern Illinois Miners player familiar with Teague told a member of the program about him."

After listening to the video of the kid he seems pretty well spoke, respectful, and polite. I'm guessing he has just had grade and testing problems. Dyslexia maybe? Who knows.

He appears rather slow-footed, shorter than 6'8", and with limited leaping ability. That said, though, I think he is a good pick up for SIU and should fit nicely into their system (and we all know what kind of "system" that is ). He seems to have a really nice, soft touch within 5 feet of the basket.
