  • BU Season In Review -- Inside The Numbers

Here's the second part in the series -- hard to believe that our rebounding stayed strong despite the obvious lack of a big man.

The difference in our rebounding was another year of TW and the our new guys that really liked to hit the boards in EM, CR, DD and TB. Last year our rebounding was terrible outside of MS. Our rebounding production from the 5 was probably a bit worse this year but every other position I bet was a major improvement. I suspect we'll be a better rebounding team next year because I believe WE will have better numbers then what we had this year, TB has proven that when in he is as good or maybe even better then TW on the boards and the guards will be a year older and bigger.

Thanks tornado... it's something I plan to continue doing. I'll soon be expanding to other BU sports.

TW actually averaged 6.2 boards last year, just behind MS at 6.7 - so TW didn't improve much on the boards this season. I agree that next year we'll be better, and hopefully JP and MK can help.

I have to admit -- the first time I saw this, I thought you were speaking of a different MS -- one that along with POB, brought us to the NCAA -- enough acronyms for one morning?

Matt Salley You either loved him or hated him. He kind of grew on me as the season progressed last year. He had a hard time hanging on to passes and such but he came to play every night! If some of our bigs played with 1/2 the intensity he did they could be and could have been all conference.

Salley was so bad offensively that he had to be a good rebounder to warrant any PT at all...

I can't agree with that. I think he was better on all accounts than this year's options.

Agreed. He could make layups, catch the ball, etc. No, he wasnt Yao Ming but he was ok.

He could make layups and catch the ball? That's grounds for being a good offensive player? He averaged 6 points per game... not hardly an offensive weapon.
