collegehoopsnet has named their High mid-major All Americans..
Their first team is
G - Patrick Mills (So, St. Mary's)
G - Tyreke Evans (Fr, Memphis)
G - Dionte Christmas (Sr, Temple)
F - Ahmad Nivins (Sr ,St. Joseph's)
C - Luke Nevill (Sr, Utah)
with Tyreke Evans being the POY
there's one Valley player on the 4th Team - Booker Woodfox
and OE made Honorable Mention along with Evansville's Shy Ely.
collegeinsider named their mid-major Freshman of the Year - Rider’s Novar Gadson
and mid-major Defensive POY - Drexel's Scott Rodgers
frankly I am surprised....these guys must only read east coast newspapers...
or maybe they've never heard of Gordon Hayward.
Their pick for frosh of the year, Rodgers, averaged 10.5 ppg, 5.6 rpg for a team that wasn't even among the top 50% in RPI and which had the 306th strongest NCSOS!
Butler was ranked all season, had a top-40 NCSOS, and Hayward averaged 13 ppg, 7 rpg and hit 45% on 3-pointers - a better shooting pct. from beyond the arc than Rodgers had from right under the basket!
