It's kind of fun to think about the flexibility that BU will have next year at the 4/5 positions. I can't remember the last time the Braves have had 3 potentially very good big men in the mix. Some assumptions: Egolf will continue to develop and become a starting caliber post player; Prosser will be able to contribute immediately at both the 4 and 5 spots (he's stated that he prefers the 4); Singh will be Singh and give 12 minutes or so of physical lane play; Milos will flash some inside/outside ability and give at least 8-10 min. /game. The group together should be formidable, and though none of them (yet) will be great players, the collective effect should result in many more points in the post / mid-range next year. Kinda fun to think about...can't wait for red vs. white!!

Name one big that has come in from day one and contributed at BU right away. It will take a bit of time for them to get use to the speed and system. WE is coming off MAJOR surgery. Regardless of his physical readiness (conditioning will take some time) he will have to overcome his own psyche. I do not expect too much from WE until the 2nd 1/2 of league play. SS is SS as we all know. I do not expect a lot more improvement from him. It would be nice to be able to get 15 solid minutes from him but the wear and tear early on will effect what he can give us during crunch time when we will need him. Let's not crown these guys with anything until they show it. We need to have realistic expectations, especially early on. These guys will be real good but let's give them the time to get there.

For me I'll start by saying don't want to see CR at the 4 for a single minute next year.
TB - With that out of the way, I think TB is a 4 all the way. Not exactly sure what it is, because he's listed as only 1 inch taller than TW, but he looks a lot bigger to me. He also seems to play taller, somehow. He's a bit undersized, but if you put him on the floor with a "5" who's 6'9"+ I don't think he'll be a size liability in most games. He showed excellent offense and rebound this season, but needs to improve his defense quite a lot. I'm expecting him to come along in that area and start at the 4 for us. I really enjoy how we found TB and that he's kind of the "from parts unknown" player who made some totally ridiculous plays for us as a freshman. I'm really glad he's on the hilltop and can't wait to see him as he develops as a player.
JP - I know we're all supposed to exhaust the "don't expect anything out of a freshman" mantra again and again... But, the fact is that good freshman start and contribute right away. We've seen that in a big way with EM, SM, and TB in recent years. JP is for all intents and purposes our highest rated recruit that I can ever remember and by eyewitness accounts an excellently skilled post player with a body "ready" for D1 play. The guy has ridiculous numbers and it sounds like he acheived those without a lot of help from his team to boot. Plus I went to grade and middle school in Eureka... So homertime. I'm sure he'll have his rough (freshman) moments, but my expectation is that he'll play 15-25 mpg and be a very big positive for us. In my ideal season he'll play the other half of the 4 position with TB and spend a bit of time at the 5. If he and TB can lock down that 4 position then we can tailor our lineup to matchup well with a lot of teams size-wise.
MK - We don't really know a lot about this guy, and we've already kind of labeled him a classic "Eurobig." Not sure that's fair, since some of the reports indicate he's a pretty complete player. He, like Prosser, put up ridiculous numbers and he did it against what seems like tougher competition. He sounds like he can definitely shoot inside and out and it sounds like he gets after it on rebounds. If he comes in ready, or comes along in the season I hope he'll be pushing for Singh's time in the rotation. Alternatively, if he's quick enough, we could play him a few minutes at the 3. So without knowing better, I'd expect he'll play mostly at the 4, but depending on specific skills could play 3 or 5. I'm hoping he'll be a Dane Watts-like player for Bradley.
WE - Sounds like he'll be physically back, but from what I've read and observed, some of the toughest parts of rehab from an injury like Will's is the mental side. Maybe because I'm an optimist and drink the red kool-aid, I'm believing in WE to overcome the mental aspects of rehab and expand on the very positive contributions he made in very limited time this season. He's athletic and looked like he had decent post skills. He looked much better at the 5 than at the 4 to me, so I'm happy to see him get all his minutes at the 5.
SS - Dr. Singh will be back for another year. Admire his effort and character a great deal. He really goes after it, but if things are going well for us, I think SS's minutes will decline over the season. He's at his best, it seems to me, when he plays 5 minute stretches and I'm hoping with some success with the new/returning post players we won't have to ask him to play much more than that.
AT - ??????? Be great if he'd come along for us, but you've got to put the effort to get the gametime.

Good post Fish....
Would love to see TB play the 3 a little too...unless he really hits the weights and brings more strength to play the 4....
JP should do just fine at the 4 or 5 and I would agree on his minutes
WE will be fine and should be our starting 5......SamS has taken him under wing so to speak and we know what Sam went through.....
MK is an unknown but seems to be a talent and youjustneverknow....
AT ??????????Peoria Toyota Scion

Yes, I believe frosh POB was the only big in the nation (not just MVC) to be in the top 10 nationally in blocks per game (was national leader for a while) and FG% and FT% (FT% among bigs) during Bradley's first 10 games.
During the same time (one of the final) PJStar sportswriters radio show thought a caller mentionig POB and the NBA in the same sentance was the most insane thought any sports fan could possibly imagine...
Then POB #'s dropped down for a variety of reasons, but you cannot deny the early numbers...

It's a fair point, RedbirdFan21, and who really knows. I could probably do some research and find both results, but I'm much too lazy. I would point out that TB was making pretty positive contributions on the floor pretty much from the beginning this season, and is by accounts smaller and not as strong as Prosser should be when he arrives. We'll see how it all comes out.
