Michigan State probably got a little boost from what sounded like a huge home crowd, since the game was played in Detroit.
Nothing personal against Villanova or UConn, but I am happy to see the Big East eliminated from the NCAA tournament. I have heard all week about how great and how dominant the Big East was. The talking heads kept telling us they had 2 of the Final Four, and it "could have been 3 of the Final 4 if Louisville would have beaten Michigan State".
MSU's win over UConn also spared us the torture of listening to these same talking heads reminding us how UConn could win both the men's and women's titles.
So now all we have to put up with is Dick Vitale, Jay Bilas, etc. reminding us how great the ACC and North Carolina are. They will also be reminding us frequently that UNC and MSU played earlier this season at Ford Field, and UNC won by 35 points.
Can we hear from all those who said the Big East was so far superior to the Big Ten that we'd likely see THREE Big East teams in the Final Four and that Louisville or UConn would probably play for the title against Pitt or Syracuse?

The Big East was superior to the big Ten this year and it wasn't close.
MSU played great and I was cheering for them yesterday but the BE teams went alot further this year in the tourney than then the BT.
Always have to cheer for an Iron Mountain, Michigan guy! Glad to see MSU win, but feel that UNC may be to much for them!
TRu-dat- the UP rules....
Iron MOuntain born and bred- means a tough nosed, but fair guy- Izzo and Mooch both are from Iron Mountain- great skiiing and at one time they had the largest ski jump around....
???We all want Bradley to win. If our methods and visions for that are different, then so be it. Don't ever attempt to tell me I am not a fan!???
The MSU game also set the all time NCAA Tourney single game attendance record with approximately 74,200. Shattered it by like 6,000 people. Could you imagine how loud that would be.
Anyone who saw the size of the teams in the MSU vs UConn game last night knows what we have to strive to do - we need to play bigger with a more traditional lineup with with 2 big forwards, a center, and 2 guards. Until then, nothing will change. We've got some size to do it next season, so why not try. I hope so.

I agree that we need to play with more size but next year we will be still a guard heavy team and with our lack of depth I expect us to continue our small ball. The following year though and especially if we pick up a true 5 should be different.
Next year 4-5 position players:
TB undersized, JP/MK Freshmen??
WE coming from a major injury, SS he is what he is, AT ???????????????

major network college basketball analysts (were) disparaging (the Big Ten)
