Illinois State gets a prep big man

ISU gets some good news today- they received a commitment from a 6'9" forward from South Kent prep school in Connecticut- Jackie Carmichael is originally from Manhattan, Knasas. He averaged 10 points and 9 rebounds per game this past season for South Kent.

Carmichael said he was academically eligible coming out of high school, where he averaged 19 points and 10 rebounds as a senior. However, he “didn’t like my college choices” at the time and decided to try and improve his stock in prep school, where he added 10 pounds.

Looks like Carmichael was a qualifier out of high school, but didn't have any D1 interest.
