Just this morning, Howard Nathan was named after the first cut for the Peoria ABA team, and is invited back for the next round of tryouts.

I'll tell you what Flipper, that might be one of the most idiotic things I have ever heard you say. Who cares if you're driving around that late. There are people that do work late or that have nightlife that do travel late at night. Is that to say that they should get in a wreck and possibly be paralyzed? You make no sense, if it wasn't for the chicks you show on your avatar I would never read your posts again. I still can't believe you said that. That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Think before you speak. This is a tragic event and all you can say is "not very many good things happen when you drive around early in the morning" Next time I have to do an overnight inventory or something like that I'll make sure I leave before midnight, just to make sure nothing bad happens on my way to work.

I don't think it's that idiotic. I would bet that statistics could prove that there are more drunk drivers out between the "night" hours vs. the "day" hours. With that being said, it could have easily happened at 4 pm instead of 4 am.

The old saying "wrong place, wrong time" definitely holds true here.

Let's just hope this kid can have a halfway normal life and recover as fully as possible

Found this story in the Chicago Tribune--

Dont know why the Trib would be covering this story closer than the PJ Star, but there is more here that I have seen in the PJS.

Sorry to revive such an old thread. But there was a new article by a Chicago Tribune writer about Howard Nathan and the progress he is making from his near fatal inuries.
