Look folks, it's not rocket science. No matter who the players are, on defense if they continually give the opponents second and third shots, the defense becomes mediocre or worse. You can't do this with pure athleticism. You have to block out! This year's team, along with all of JL's teams, was woefully weak in this department, except for Patrick's team. Guess why Patrick's team was the exception.
On offense you have to have an inside presence. Just watch any high profile successful college team and you will see the ball going into the post, in the team's half court offense, 90 percent of the possesions. A very high percentage of good things happen when that happens. Until the Braves adopt that philosophy/get a player who is a scoring threat inside, then the offense will continue to be mediocre. Athleticism can only take us so far. Attention to fundamentals can take us the rest of the way.

The team hasn't had an inside scoring threat since POB left, and this was the only year that I would classify the offense as mediocre.

I don't think you'll find any disagreement saying that the team needs is better play inside. I think it's been pretty obvious to everyone for three years now.

I agree. The fundamentals of good rebounder's is learning to block out. We do a very poor job of that. You are so right about the athleticism taking you only so far We have seen this. Lets get some basketball minded and ability players with some size. Just tried of counting on 6'3 to 6'5 players trying to guard 6'8 and taller
There is no team in the the MVC that can match up to us the whole game, if our bigs come to play! BU will win the the MVC this year!
