Kangas and Benson were just studs. IMO two of the best players we have seen come through Carver on the same team in a long time! We really had no answer for them. Too bad for this team that the "smart" guys in the NCAA or NIT never got a chance to see them play!
Some see a hopeless end, while others see an endless hope.

Are they seniors? If they aren't, then Oakland will REALLY give North Dakota St a run for their money again next year!

Nice to see those two teams have stepped up since Valparaiso left that league. If traditional Summit power Oral Roberts gets better next year, that league could have a very strong upper tier! Yes they may all feast on the very mediocre lower half of their league, but all three of these teams are certainly dangerous enough to knock off some quality non-conferences opponents. And whomever represents the league in the NCAA Tournament, and the other tourneys for that matter could easily scare or beat other teams.

I think the lesson learned here is that irregardless of what postseason tourney we play in, most of the teams are quality opponents. So far the CIT is another great tourney!

McCain and Collins just 10 minutes each.

I was impressed with Oakland. What year are those studs on their team?

Kangas is a senior, so that was his last game.

Benson is a sophomore (he redshirted one year, and has played 2) so he will be back for 2 more years.

Their point guard, Johnathan Jones is a junior,

I'm sure Tom Izzo would have something to say about this comment unless you were down playing U of Mich. It would be nice to recruit up there if this is the talent level coming through Detroit.

A.T. is pretty close to being the same size as Benson, you don"t have to weigh 235 to be able to play inside.

But you need to have the determination of wanting it like Benson to play in D-I. There is no substitution for the drive in a person. The lack of drive may not show up in one play but it would surely play out eventually and effect the team negatively. I do not know his drive so this is not a comment about AT but all indications point to that he has the tools to get there and I believe if he was ready he'd be playing because there has been plenty of opportunities this year for a big to step up!
