  • Siena vs Louisville

Siena on a 21-7 run and leading Louisville 61-59!

The overall number #1 is on the ropes though still 8 minutes left.

There are a lot of great games today. Right now, the best one may be Siena-Louisville. Unfortunately, CBS in Peoria is showing us Southern California-Michigan State. It's a good game too, tied with 3 minutes left, but I don't really care who wins.

Siena leads #1 seed Louisville in the second half--

I'm hoping the 'Ville takes the whole thing.....but sometimes they really play stupid basketball. They have as much talent as anyone but don't always play like it

Well, in the battle of ancient civilizations, the Michigan St Spartans beat the USC Trojans 74-69. It looks like Tom Izzo's tough defense and rebounding was the Trojan Horse that ended up being the Trojan's "Achilles Heel".

          Sorry! As a 2nd generation Greek-American, I couldn't resist!

Well Siena gave it a great effort, but just falls short to Louisville 79-72 (the last three Louisville points in "garbage" time).

That means all four #1 seeds advanced to the Sweet 16. Ho-hum!

MSU played well, but also got some very favorable calls that would most likely would have otherwise resulted in points for USC toward the end. But a very well played game.

Both #1's today got a scare. Louisville was tied with about 5 minutes left and Pittsburgh was tied with 2 minutes left against OKL St. Louisville probably has had the easiest ride to the Elite 8. A 16 seed, 9 seed and now a 12 seed next week LOL. That may not turn out good as they will go from a 12 seed to playing a 2 or 3 seed 2 days later.

Well, in spite of the fact that I still think Arizona shouldn't have made the tourney, they really aren't a typical 12 seed. I do expect them to give Louisville a game.

I do not know about favorable calls but the difference really was that MSU executed as a team towards the end while USC players tried to do too much by themselves at the end.
