  • Kentucky at Creighton

I think this could be a really big game for mid-majors. Kentucky, a big, "historic" name program in a down year goes on the road to face the co-champion of the MVC. If Kentucky wins, on the road, it could be used as an argument by the BCS-types why schools like Kentucky, Arizona, etc make the NCAA over good teams from mid-major conferences. Patterson and Meeks could be really tough for CU to contain. Being at home should help out a lot. And I am assuming that a game against Kentucky will draw a bunch of fans, even in Kentucky's down year.

Hopefully a Creighton win will show the BCS types that the mid-majors can beat these teams.

Then again, if Creighton wins, the BCS people will just complain more about why they don't go on the road to play the mids in the first place! It's a lose-lose situation for the mid-majors if Creighton wins. But it would still be nice to see!

      Go CU!

I would be interested to watch the game, but couldn't see degrading myself by cheering for Creighton in ANY game...

Their students are horrid, their players are jerks, and well, why would I ever cheer for them...?!

This whole cheer for the conference thing is overblown...its not going to help us regardless so why do it?

Besides, if I'm going to cheer for another Valley school at least it should be one that their fans have been cordial w/ BU's and that certainly is NOT Creighton!

All points are true, but anything that can improve the perception that mid-majors can compete with the big boys is a good thing.

I hope Kentucky loses by 58 points....

I've really never liked Kentucky at all ever since Joe B. Hall was their coach and they screwed the Illini in the NCAA's by getting call after call ON THEIR HOME FLOOR in the tournament. This game is why teams are no longer allowed to play on their home floor during the big dance.

I also think that any MVC win, especially against the big boys, is a good win for the conference and BU.

                Go Jays.

Western Kentucky is certainly doing their part against Illinois!
