  • CBI mentioned on ESPN U tonight

Tulsa's run in the CBI last year was mentioned several times throughout the Tulsa/Northwestern NIT game on ESPN U tonight. And the announcers also noted that the Tulsa coaching staff thought the CBI was a good experience which helped them prepare for this season and the NIT. Even the bug at the bottom is mentioning the CBI by name as they run their scores (though they did not mention the CIT, they just showed random scores).

So does this mean the ban on mentioning other tournaments by name aside from the NIT and the NCAA's has been lifted by ESPN?

The CBI is not on TV, therefore it is not a threat to ESPN.

    'tis simple.

There is one CBI game on TV tonight.
I am watching Houston at Oregon State on HDnet. It is a low-scoring game, but it is i high-def, and that makes it more fun to watch.

Oregon State is leading Houston 45-40 with 49 seconds to go.

I hate to see a 13-17 team advance, but I am happy to see Tommy Penders go down in flames.

I attended the Tulsa game tonight...they had a good turnout...almost 5000 with the students gone for spring break...better than I would have expected. Tulsa tried to blow another lead late like they have done in many of their losses this season, but dodged a bullet when Moore of Northwestern missed the tying 3 late. 7 minutes left is too much time to be trying to run the clock down on each possession. Tulsa next travels to Auburn...the game may be as early as Friday.

I thought maybe it was because they finally weren't so paranoid that they thought the CBI would eat into their audience. But I guess not.
