When do they announce the womens NIT....and do the Braves have a shot?

I would guess it would be like the Mens announcement and be announced tonight. Not sure if the women have a chance since ISU didn't get into the dance. Probably would have a better shot had ISU did get in.

wow, is the mvc really considered that weak on the women's side? i find it pretty ridiculous that the league champion can't get in with a 24-6 record.

Evansville is in the Dance representing the MVC, but ISU didn't get in after finishing 1st at 24-6. That means that they are guaranteed a bid to the WNIT because they were the highest seed remaining in the conference to not make it to the Dance. MVC will be represented in both. Question is, will more than 1 MVC team make the WNIT which only has 17 at large bids...

According to realtimerpi, the MVC is 10th in conference RPI for women's basketball.

Sounds very similar to the men's side.

24-6 doesn't make it? I am no isu fan but their women's team look real good in Peoria. Georgia makes it at 18-13, Minnesota 19-11, Rutgers 19-12, LSU 18-10. To be honest I dont really know what teams are good on the womens side, but based on record alone it seems like the Valley is getting the shaft once again.

RealtimeRPI has them at 24-7 with a 47 RPI and a 112 SOS.

                      Probably a fair assumption.

                      I'm surprised UE got a 15 seed and not a 16.

WNIT teams are now posted. No Bradley unfortunately, but ISU gets in with a first round bye and Creighton gets in playing at home against UC Riverside on Saturday.

Tennessee also lost its first ever opening round game of the women's big dance. 42-0 in the opening round but not anymore.

The most shocking news out here was that Stanford women ranked #2 in the nation, won their conference regular season and Tournament, was given a 2 seed. Last year they were also given a 2 seed and ended up making it to the championship game. I'm not sure who picks for the women but I am wondering how much money does this generate for the teams?
