  • SEC final- Miss. State 64 Tennessee 61

    Anyone else watching this game?
Mississippi State has outplayed Tennessee, and should have won the game a while ago. However, a multitude of bizarre calls by the refs, and several mishaps by the game-clock operator, who failed on 2 consecutive inbounds plays to start the game clock, has drawn the game out several minutes longer than it ever should have been.

Finally, MSU wins 64-61. Mississippi State will be in the NCAA, and that will bump another bubble team. Tennessee is probably already in with a 21-12 record, RPI of 18, and SOS of 2.

I kept thinking that the game-clock operator was in St Louis last week. What a strange ending to this game....
    Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

That must have been a painful one to watch for fans of bubble teams hanging to slim hopes, especially the last minutes. If you look at the game play-by-play there were three turnovers in two seconds of game from 10 seconds to 8, but those were run off by the refs. According to the clock operator it was zero seconds.

Miss.ST deserved to win this game , the officials were good until the last 24 seconds and then they really got bad with the traveling call being overuled to a foul call, then the 5 sec. call on the out of bounds play and finally the Miss.St. player being forced out of bounds but no foul was called, had Miss.ST. lost this game I belive the officials would have had a lot to explain about the poor job that they did at the end of this game.

Jerry Palm said on his site (last night) if Miss St wins and steals a bid... he will be taking St Mary's out. After the game is over, he says today... after further review, Creighton is out.

Joe Lunardi still has Creighton in, one of his last "2 in" along with Maryland. I'm hoping this is his "final" bracket assuming he is basing this on inside info.

Also Doug Gottlieb "speculating" that Dayton may be the surprise team on the outside looking in! I wonder if that is something he heard just recently!

Should be a fun selection show, and I certainly have enjoyed watching all of the guessing going on this week!

Can you tell me where Miss St is on his last bracket. I don't see them - so he hasn't done his FINAL bracket yet. I suppose he is waiting to hear who is out before updating his bracket.
