We knew he would play college ball somewhere. Believe hs dad played for Notre Dame. Hope to make it to Markin to see JW in action and welcome him to the Hilltop.

I am at the Flash Flanagan event, and John Wilkins is not here. There are only high schoolers playing (and a few junior high school kids). There are no college or juco kids.
I heard it is because his junior college didn't want him here. Since he is on scholarship at Southeastern CC, his juco coach can control whether he plays in events like this. The fact that there are no other college or juco kids here makes me think there might be a conflict.

Here is an abbreviated report....you know how to get me if you want more...
....this was the Grand Central Station of basketball...
four games on four courts going simultaneously...
two games per hour and four courts, roughly 10 kids per team...and it's only about 3 hours in so lots more ball, but I thought I'd take a break and blog...
No D-I coaches allowed as it is a dead period..but dads of players can of course be there, so I saw both Jim Les and Jim Molinari.
Mo had been recruiting Zeke Schneider of Metamora, and he had a few words about him and other kids...
I also saw and said hi to Chris Roberts, Sam Maniscalco, and Dodie Dunson.
Sam M.'s dad, Carl Maniscalco was coach of one of the Illinois Wolves teams (16U)....with Chasson Randle, Bobo Drummond....
The team I enjoyed watching the most had Jordan Prosser, Tyler Les, Zeke Schneider, and Dyricus.
It's hard to say with certainty who was the best player there, but I'd go with Jordan Prosser, he was unstoppable.
One other team I enjoyed was the Peoria Carver team....Andrew Jordan (Woodruff), Brandon Watson (Manual), David Molinari, and another incredible shooter Cooper Meyer...a small kid who never missed a shot.
They passed well and won easily in each of their games.
Carl Maniscalco was the coach of the Illinois Wolves 16U that had Drummond & Randle....he looked like he was having fun.
Nice to see a few of our fine posters there.....
those poor refs are working every game....5 straight hours...running clock....no time outs....whew!!
John Wilkins was not there....
I did not see him and neither did anyone else...
But Wilkins was NOT even listed in the player guide, so I have to think he was a scratch earlier than just this morning.......maybe because of the fact that it was held ON CAMPUS at BU.......
There were over 200 kids there from almost every high school in the state..so if you have any questions about anyone in particular...let me know.....

Jim Les was watching his son, Tyler, play today...
but I found a premium blog entry about an AAU event that says where Jim Les was yesterday!
"....in the crowd watching his son....Bradley coach Jim Les. …"
---from the Little Rock, Arkansas "Real Deal"
also....Greg McDermott's son, Doug McDermott.."has offers from Albany, South Dakota and North Dakota, Northern Iowa, Creighton and Indiana State."
--hmmm...no offer from Iowa State???

Originally posted by bravetime33 View PostJohn Wilkins is scheduled to play in Flash's Spring Hoops Review on April 19th at the new Markin Center on the campus of BU. Guest speaker Chuck Buescher will present at the orientation at 11AM prior to the games which start at noon. Over 240 players are expected of which 75 to 100 are division 1 prospects. This is an opportunity for top players to be evaluated by a large number of college basketball coaches, plus a number of college scouting services and talent evaluators. Plus the AAU Chicago Wolves will bring 3 teams. Last year the Wolves were ranked as the number 5 AAU team in the nation, which Wilkins played on. Carl Maniscalco is an assistant for this team. This is the 26th event in the last 14 years. It presents many kids the opportunity for exposure to move to the next level and higher education. Many who have attended this review are now playing in the NBA. If you have time it might be something to check out, see John in action, show support to him and the camp and other prospetive atheletes

I noticed on Flash's website, that he posted his rankings of the players at the event. DSE and JP were rated as the top players at the event:
