Ah, yes, I remember that now. I was thinking he went to Bergan and was making a poor attempt to stir the pot. When I was a young lad, his dad and Squeaky were my two b.b. heroes.

Eddie seems to be a fun guy to play for....expects alot...but shows he cares...a great combination...they improved a ton through the year and next season could be very special for PND....they will be solid through 8-10 players...lots of guards and shooters and big Max and some others with size as well....

I would expect big things from them next year if the roster has that good of players.
Maybe more than 2. I am sure there have been other players from PND beside Brian Randle, and Brian Lavin. Especially if you go back to the days of Spalding & Bergan HSs.

If you want to go WAY back at Spalding, there was the aforementioned Don Mathews (BU 1951-54). Alvin O'Neal (late '60s) I think, played at Murray State. Ken Wolbeck (70's) I think also played D1 somewhere. Joe Voegele, a team mate of mine at SI, played at BU 1958-59.

Good memory TNel, the 1969 team (finished 2nd in State - single class) had Alvin O'Neal, whose antics his senior year cost him a few better scholarship offers, and the 1970 Spalding team (finsihed 4th) had Wolbeck and Brian Lavin's dad, Rich.

There hasn't been any schedule released, and I am not sure they have set the teams and matches yet.

I would guess there might be a nominal entrance fee, but I am not sure. Does anyone else know?

So this event will be open to the general public? (For some reason I had assumed not)

You are correct WC. Found a reference to O'Neal on IlliniBoard/10 worst basketball calls. Didn't say what year it was, but Harv Schmidt put him into a game against IU for a defensive stop. He did his job and managed to force a jump ball. The official screwed it up and had Rick Howat jump instead of Alvin. I don't think he spent more than a year or two at U of I. Murray State still rings a bell, but I could be wrong.

There was discussion as to an entrance fee charged by Bradley to attend the event. As of now no fee will be charged. Flash never charged a fee for spectators.

Guest speaker Chuck Buescher will present at the orientation at 11AM prior to the games which start at noon. Over 240 players are expected of which 75 to 100 are division 1 prospects. This is an opportunity for top players to be evaluated by a large number of college basketball coaches, plus a number of college scouting services and talent evaluators. Plus the AAU Chicago Wolves will bring 3 teams. Last year the Wolves were ranked as the number 5 AAU team in the nation, which Wilkins played on. Carl Maniscalco is an assistant for this team. This is the 26th event in the last 14 years. It presents many kids the opportunity for exposure to move to the next level and higher education. Many who have attended this review are now playing in the NBA. If you have time it might be something to check out, see John in action, show support to him and the camp and other prospetive atheletes
Does anyone know when this starts at the Markin Center today.
