  • UNC v VA Tech

I thought UNC got all the calls and Tech got the short end of it. There were 3 calls that UNC was handed:
    1) Goaltending non-call
    2) Tyler Zeller put back which looked like a walk
    3) The biggest! jump ball but it looked like the VA tech guy was mugged with under 10 sec.

I can't wait for the next 3 days when Vitale goes "Vitale Bald Dome Index BABYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!! VT BELONGS!!!!!!!!!! THEY ARE ONE OF THE BEST 34 AT-LARGE TEAMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

You'll hear the word "eye test" approximately 357 times in the next 2 days when they talk about VT, and then casually mention Creighton shouldn't be there because they got blown out in a game none of them watched.

See, I already know this crap is gonna happen. I'm pissed because I know it's coming and I can't stop it.

Oh you know that's gonna happen! How many times did Duke get clocked this season? Amazing how many times they got blown out, and some are still mentioning them as a possible number one seed should they win the ACC tourney. And yet Creighton can't have one bad game?! Puhleeze!

Very skewed thinking by some of the BCS "cheerleaders"! They are so darn jealous they can't even stomach the prospect of a couple of extra mid-majors "crashing" their party.

If the committee does their job and not listen to these cry babies, I think there will be some very happy fans from a few mid-major schools this Sunday evening!

And thank God Kentucky and V Tech have been defeated so there is still room for the Creighton's and St. Mary's of the world!

Wow! And Digger just mentioned that he doesn't understand why the Big Ten will potentially get eight teams in! Probably because he feels twelve teams should get in from the Big East. Just a guess!

I also think we will hear how Ohio State should get in! They are talented but do not deserve a place unless they win the Big Ten Tourney. Talent should not get you in, results is what counts. Ohio State will be good enough next year!
I hope Whiskey beats them today so they are not even in the discussion. On VA Tech, they should also not be mentioned and I'll guess if MD beats WF tonight they'll be put into the conversation again.

I know this may be a controversial statement, but I could see the Big Ten get eight teams into the tournament, though this game going on now could be an "elimination" game for the loser.

As far as Ohio St is concerned, the are 9-9 against the RPI top 100 and 5-8 against the RPI top 50, so they certainly can make a case for the tourney. Plus they have better numbers than several other BCS bubble teams.

Wisconsin on the other hand is 8-10 against the RPI top 100 but only 3-9 against the top 50. So I think "Whiskey" needs this game a lot more, and I can see them being left out if they lose today.

So seven bids may be more realistic, but eight is definately possible, but maybe even only six depending on whether Penn St or Minnesota gets left out. Quite possible!

OSU, besides wins in their conference their non-con was weak and they beat Butler @home and lost to WVU @home. Their road record is very woeful and beat no one of any merit outside of Columbus.

They lose today they should not get in! NIT....

Until the NCAA mandates something regarding scheduling.. ie you must play a % of your non conference games on the road and not neutral site, this discussion of muddle along average teams like Kentucky, OSU, Wisky, pick a Big East team will continue.

These schools are able to issolate themselves by playing nearly all their non conference games at home and do not have to face road games. Also, it just drives me nuts to hear about the such and such plays in a great conference... has the conferences do not get bids change after '06? A team that plays a very soft non conferences schedule ie Clemson and muddles along in their conference just does not deserve a bid, but now I am told that they play in a tough conference. It is very confusing as to what formula the BCS err CBS err the selection committee wants to use.

Michigan State just threw their semifinal game to OSU in modest fashion. What a bunch of slackers lol. #1 UNC also down by a point to FL State with a few minutes left. Maybe we should just not have BCS conference tourneys because all the good teams just slack off in return for more rest.
