  • St. Louis Post writer says ISU "deserves a spot in NCAA tournament"

St. Louis Post sports writer Bryan Burwell believes:

Illinois State deserves a spot in NCAA Tournament

I hope he's right and the MVC does get 2 or 3 bids, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Hi DC, I see you are online this morning. Got a question for you. Do I have to make some changes on my own or will the site eventually catch up to daylight savings time on its own? I know in the past there were things that had to be done but I'm not sure I remember how to do it. Have a great day

Never mind, it looks like its correct to me now But when you're not logged in the time is wrong, but when you're logged in the time is right.

Thanks for noticing. It required a simple change on the board's administration panel. It should show the correct time now for both logged-on members, and for guests.

Whatever this guy is smoking, I want some!
          Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

If NW'rn and Davidson get at-large bids, then Creighton and ISU will be in the NCAA as well.

Illinois St. played like an NCAA caliber team this weekend, unfortunately I don"t believe that it will get them in, Creighton did not play like a team that deeserves to get in and they will have to hope that there are not a lot of upsets in conf. tournaments because they may be one of several teams in the last 4 in category.

o played like an NCAA caliber player rather than illinois state playing as a team. Take him away and they shot 25% from the field yesterday. A silly pass out of the paint when there was an easy two points there for the taking and a missed layup were the most obvious things that cost them the game.

I don't think they have any business in the big tournament and they aren't even being mentioned other than the team that might cost Creighton a bid.

What about O's two missed free throws...come on...it wasn't like O was perfect. Theoretically, if he makes those free throws...even just one..they win and are going to the NCAA. Hard to say who let who down (or whom).

That is right, the final factors are now out of anyone in the MVC's control.
It now depends on how many conference tournament upsets occur that award a team who would not have been deserving of an at-large bid.

ISU and Creighton fans are pulling for the likes of Memphis (RPI of 7) in the CUSA, Utah (10) or BYU (22) in the MWC, Butler (RPI of 1 in the Horizon, Siena (24) in the MAAC, Utah State (27) in the WAC, Gonzaga (35) in the WCC, George Mason (46) in the Colonial, to win their tournaments, and for no low-seeded teams to win any of the big power conference tournaments. It will all play out this week.

I have a hard time saying o let them down. I have just never thought they were that good of a "team" and I've been saying it since I saw them play in person here.

Maybe Eldridge can get a bid and play 1 on 5.

Maybe he'll just move on to the NBA since he's that good.
