I thought the key play was when Sampay did not go ahead and put back the layup and give ISU the 5 point lead with about 1:30 to go instead of running more time off the clock. The two possession lead would have been more important IMO. He may not have realized he was that open either.

uni was the best team in the valley this year and deserve to go to the big dance. honestly, no other team in this conference should be there. justice won out.

Yeah, that was a bad play.

And I agree with the poster who said Enberg needs to retire.

        Exciting game, though.

Very good game to watch, very hard game to lose when you know what was at stake, thought Eldredge should have drove down the lane and tried to draw a foul at the end of regulation . Congratulations to both teams in representing the valley well in our championship game.

Which NCAA coach has the best record to not take his team to the NCAA tournament? I'm guessing the answer could very well be Jank!

YOu are right on with this realfan. The refs probably would not have called anything, but Zero would have had a much higher percentage shot than the bricks he threw up at the end of the game and in OT.

Anybody can get a record like Janks if you schedule like ISU has done for the past couple of years.

My point exactly! Can't wait to see their schedule (and record) next season.

ISU shot poorly, 19-63 (30.2%), and 10-35 from three (28.6%).
Eldridge was 8-14 for the game, Oguchi was 4-13, Phillips was 0-7, Holloway was 3-12, and Dinmna was 1-7.

Attendance was terrible- 9,136- lower than any of the Friday and Saturday sessions. Pathetic, considering the sellouts they have had in recent years.

Congrats UNI, that was one heck of a game. Certainly won't win many games shooting 30%.

I would guess they will get somewhere around a 10 or 11 seed from the NCAA selection committee, and get matched up against a top midmajor like Butler, BYU, Siena, or Gonzaga.

You think they will be seeded that high? I think they will be a 12 or 13.

I agree. And I think they'll get a powerhouse from the Big East, ACC, or Big 12.

I haven't read many of these posts except the few that knock on ISU...and I don't mind it too much because I still hate ISU and am glad they don't get into the NCAA, but the fact of the matter is Jank has gotten them into the finals of the MVC tournament two years in a row and almost got them in the NCAA this year. Yes they've had a good record and won't go in and that's funny in a way but they still have gotten to the finals twice...that's saying something and they can claim to be the most consistent team in the valley over the past 2 seasons considering where Drake is now and how they came out of nowhere kind of like UNI coming out of nowhere...eventho we don't know how they will be next year. Props to ISU..made it an exciting game, but I am glad UNI won...they deserve it..good fans good people...something I can only say for probably 30% of ISU fans.
