We need a scorer. Who is going to replace Wilson next year?

Les needs to step up his coaching too.

If we don't lose to a D3 team next year I will probably be back on the wagon then.
To set the record straight, I checked our record for this season, and we do not have a loss to a D3 team (it was an exhibition you are recalling- and it did not count).

I think the coaches did a good job. Their game plan for SIU was superb, and the SIU guards couldn't do anything except launch fall-away threes.
They also took UNI's outside game away from them. Unfortunately, their guys stepped up and beat Bradley a different way. That is what champion teams are capable of.

I think we should congratulate and thank this team, players, and coaches for overachieving, and never giving up. I know a lot of fans appreciate that, and so do I.

We actually improved this year. 18-14, 10-8 and 1-1 in the Valley tourney versus 17-15, 9-9 and 0-1 in the Valley tourney last year. And we finished 4th, up from 5th last year.

Maybe baby steps, but considering the injuries, not bad at all!

The CBI had some good teams, and it should be competitive as usual, or even that other new tournament.

And agreed on Les. What else can you expect the guy to do? And I'm not saying that because "we are not allowed" to speak bad against Les. I genuinely feel Les has done as good a job as can be expected with the injuries we had to endure! I understand we need to get the ball inside more, but we don't have the post players to do that every night other than when we play depleted teams like SIU. Hopefully Prosser will feel the bill, and we have other players that can get better in the post anyway. It's not like we did not try to try different things this year. We did. And I think we can only get much better next year!

So let's enjoy the CBI or CIT or whatever we got left as this will help the returnees get more valuable experience which can make next year a lot of fun!
Just a couple of things to add...

IMO this was Les' best coaching job since the 2006-07 NIT team.

GTD, I am looking forward to your return this fall.

I think the staff did a good job this season as once again injuries hurt our teams chances, the loss of Warren meant that Ruffin, Crouch, Salley and Warren which is 4 of last years 5 starters had to be replaced, a very impossible thing to ask , but no excuses were made and we played hard and turned in a decent season, also the loss of Egolf effected us on the inside.

Those who understand college basketball will realize that this year's BU team was a success and exceeded all expectations after injury and losing the 3 top scorers from last year's team.

Great job by the coaches and players! I'm not ready for this season to end and am expecting a CBI bid (my fingers are crossed ).

I agree. Today's game was frustrating, but it's been a good season considering the circumstances, and there's still basketball left to be played IMO.

Very well stated and I completely agree!

I agree T, but however I am still holding out hope that we can go watch a couple more games down at Carver. Hopefully we get an invite to one of the postseason tournaments. I had so much fun last year in the CBI. This year was a good year. I mean did anyone think that we were gonna win 18 games with Andrew and an emerging Will Egolf both hurt? Also Sammy has been playing with pain as well as Uncle Sam Singh. I'll miss Theron a ton, but to look at what is on the Horizon we can only get better. LET'S GET A CBI BID! GO BU!

I too believe that this year may be JL's best coaching job. We need a consistent shooter and things will work out. Did not believe we would win 18 with this team and really like the upside the freshman have.

                      GO BU!!!!

I agree and I REALLY hope his foot holds up next year. Foot injuries (with all those tiny bones) can be very tricky and troublesome, with a high likelyhood for reoccurring. I'm not trying to jinx Warren or anything. I just hope he takes it kind of easy this summer.

I agree and personally, although no one will probably agree with me, I think we do too much over the summer. I know it's best for them to be at school over the summer and take class work in the morning, so they have less of a class load during the season, but there are other forms of exercise before studying at night. We are an injury prone team and from what I seem to remember it starts or starts to build over the summer. I think the NCAA says the coaches cannot coach over the summer - but there are no restrictions on training - so I saw videos posted last summer with our trainer running the players through full court drills - what's the difference? Here's what I would do (take your best shots at me): I would say take your morning classes and go out and play 18 holes of golf, or use our new swimming pool - it's great for cardio and easy on the knees and ankles and feet, go to a public swimming pool and soak up some sun and relax. Study at night. We'll have 2 workouts on the court per week. I'd be a great coach - have fun over the summer and keep the wear and tear down.

Come on guys! These are not fragile old men but young strong studs that love to play and should play as much as possible together during the summer. Freak accidents happen just walking the street! What we may want to look into is our strength and conditioning program to make sure they are stretching, warming down and hydrating properly.
There's a trainer in in San Francisco that takes some real good players, both college and pros and puts them through an intensive program to get ready for the season and these guys are made to play ball after their workouts. Blake Griffin went through his workout last summer!

See ya after the summer, GTD.

I think the season, while frustrating, was a great success and probably JL's best showing. He hit the preseason prediction of BU performance and did it with one of his top two players (and probably most able scorer) lost for the year. Egolf injury, IMO, was also a big blow... Combine that with Dodie's injury and I went to StL hopeful for some wins, but not disappointed that we were only able to take one. I REALLY wanted to beat UNI, but what can you do?

I'll be in LV I think, so looking forward to it, and the next iteration of BU basketball.

I too think we overachieved, but if anyone thinks this team is better than last years based on record...that's ridiculous. I think last years team around this time could wipe the floor with this team. We had the ability to ERASE a 15 point deficit in less than 2 minutes...it was unparalleled. That team was just better with ruffin, crouch, wilson, warren, and salley in the paint...just better basketball players.
