  • Big Shakeup at Mid-Con School

Oral Roberts has announced some big changes.

Three players who have already signed LOI's WILL NOT be enrolling and attending ORU.
Dominique Gaines, Jeremy Hazell and Justin Robinson will not be attending ORU in the fall.

In addition, ORU announced two new transfers will be coming to Oral Roberts.
Kansas State guard Curtis Allen and Portland forward Marcus Lewis have announced they will transfer to ORU.

ORU is coached by Scott Sutton entering his 8th year.

Jeremy Hazell was likely the best of those incoming recruits, and was tearing up the AAU events he was at over the summer.
But here is the word on the two reasons why he's not coming to ORU.
First, he was doing so well over the summer, that people got in his ear and told him he could do better than ORU.
But, the bigger reason is academic.
He was from The Patterson Prep School in Lenoir, N.C.
    Does that sound familiar??

The latest NCAA list of prep schools who are under watch for poor academic performance includes this school.

The word on Hazell is that ORU has reviewed the kid's academics and has chosen NOT to accept some of the stuff on his his transcript. He likely would not be able to make up enough work over the summer to be eligible in the fall, so Hazell will head to prep school for another year.
He will probably go to a different prep school that's not on the NCAA's watch list.

The other two kids, Gaines and Robinson, also have academic problems and will likely go the juco route.
